foreveryoung
Im soooo fed up of hearing about the "world cup" its a game of football and like most things we are going to lose (just like we do at majority of things)
Cinnamon
I am hating it too. Fell for me at work today where we have a HUGE table of red & white tat for me to look at all day
poachedegg
OH and ES (19) are very excited for it as avid football followers and OH is very busy as football is intrinsic to his business. I actually think it is nice to see the the enthusiasm and excitment in them and it isn't for that long. So I don't begrudge them and am happy to go along with it. Chucky Mama
I normally don't do football but I like the World Cup (even though it always seems to end in tears )
Leicester_H
Its only every 4 years !! Lets be proud to be English like other countries are proud. At least England got to the finals - they can't be that bad. H
Tiggy
we have a sweepstake at work, £2 a team half goes to charity & half is the prize, I may indulge in that
C&T
I don't enjoy football - prefer watching Rugby - less actors on the pitch!! But, I will be there waving a flag and hoping England do go all the way. Having said that - once it all kicks off I guess all the guys at work will be discussing every match in huge detail and at that point I might begin to wane a little... craftyhunnypie
I hate it! You can't go out for a pub meal without the big screen being on. You can't sit outside because of smokers. Then there is all the tack in the shops & hanging outside peoples houses & on their cars. Not to mention people walking round with red wigs & painted faces. I like fun, but it is pathetic! Lucky for me hubby hates football! Emma.x
bluekarin
I am a fickle footy fan and only watch it when the World Cup is on I do get quite involved with it as well But I am the same with rugger.
poachedegg
I like fun, but it is pathetic! A bit harsh when others have said they or their families will be following it - tolerance, live and let live and all that!
Woodcat
I don't begrudge others their fun but i am sick of the silly flags people put on there cars and things like that. A slight side issues but i've always thought those flags are bloomin dangerous if one were to break say on the motorway and hit the windscreen of the car behind you..? If nothing else it would be terrifying. I always find myself thinking great support your team enjoy the game but is it really necessary to ram it down other people throats. I hate football and I'm afraid i make no exception where the world cup is concerned. The only good thing that comes out of it is that I'm going shopping when England play so that i get a completely empty shop.
C&T
The only good thing that comes out of it is that I'm going shopping when England play so that i get a completely empty shop. Every cloud has a silver lining! Best ever day I went to Alton Towers was Cup Final day - it was empty!! It is only every 4 years, so I don't mind. I think it's great that it is something a community can get behind and show their support. There aren't many things that bring as many people together - even if the "other halves" (be it male or female) aren't enjoying watching the game, but just catching up with each other at the back of the pub or in the garden around a BBQ! patsylabrador
It's cheered me up, a football pub has given one of my boys his first job in months. He's applying to join the Army and was struggling to find temp jobs, which this will be. Good for footie on this occassion.
