Very bad experience and it's not even here yet...

Having got some new additions a few weeks ago in the form of two beautiful Brahma ladies, I have decided to upgrade to a Cube from my trusty little Eglu. So placed the order on 19th June with agreed delivery of 24th.

On the 23rd I had a phone call to say that despatch of the Cube had been delayed for a fortnight as some vital parts were missing. Obviously, there was nothing I could do about this and although very disappointed, reluctantly had to accept that I was going to have to wait another two weeks.

On Monday (5th) I had an email to say that it had been despatched. Hoorah! Tuesday came and so did one box (albeit shredded and the frame inside scratched) but UKMail (couriers) said that 3 other boxes were missing!!!! I phoned Omlet and managed to speak to Quin who said that there should have been 5 boxes in total so he phoned UKMail and came back to me saying that they were trying to locate them. I spoke to him again this morning and they had managed to find 3 of the boxes but 1 was still missing. As they didn't know which box was missing they couldn't then resend out the missing items until I had received the others and could confirm what had gone astray. Three phonecalls later and the missing fourth box had been located and Omlet were given assurances that all would be delivered by 6pm this evening. Well they still haven't turned up!!!! I am absolutely furious now. Including tomorrow I will have wasted three days annual leave waiting for the flaming thing to turn up. I'm starting to wonder if it's worth the bother to be quite honest. I'm seriously almost to the point of cancelling, saving myself £700 and just use a small portion of that to buy a wooden house! If anything else is wrong tomorrow if/when it finally gets here it WILL be going straight back!

Please listen to your customers who are experiencing this first hand and find a more professional company to deliver these expensive items. They really are not doing Omlet any favours at all!

that is absolutely terrible Joo! What a disappointment for you. :(

You would have thought after all the problems people have had in the past with deliveries from Omlets couriers that Omlet would now have rectified this and use a reliable delivery service.

Sorry Omlet but that's just pants service.

That is shocking Jue. However, I am not surprised :x

I had problems when my cube was delivered last year. It seems that if Omlet deliver themselves the service is great but the service is shocking with the couriers

It really does tarnish the Omlet name, I hope they can resolve it

Don't think I would be very happy either. Sounds like Uk Mail need replacing to me, you must be pulling your hair out. :wall:

Omlet really should look at using a more efficient courier service, after all it is them who will end up with the bad name for customer service not UK mail.

Hopefully it will turn up tomorrow and all will be well.

Good luck.

Thanks everyone for your support. It's sort of reassuring to know that I'm not the only one to have experienced problems, but then that makes it worse because it means this should have been rectified before! No I'm really not happy :wall::wall:

When my Eglu was delivered, I ordered three hens with it so Omlet delivered it and everything was great. But this time...:roll::evil:

My dealings were the opposite - things kept coming the day before - just lucky someone was home both times to receive the goods. Irritating indeed. 3 wasted days and umpteen calls is disgraceful. Sort yourselves out Omlet - you used to be good, what's happening?

I hope you are going to be suitably compensated for all your lost working days.

Well I had a phone call at 8.15 from UKMail to say that they won't be able to deliver the Cube until after 2pm this afternoon  It's ok I've only been waiting in for 3 days! Then had a phone call from Lauren at Omlet an hour later to check that everything was ok with the delivery last night! UKMail hadn't even notified them that the delivery still hadn't arrived, despite all their assurances that it would be here yesterday!

Thanks Claire & Anna. Considering it should have been delivered on Tuesday, but then UKMail lost 4 boxes, then they were eventually found and should have been delivered yesterday, you would think that they would have put it as priority for today but obviously not!:roll:

I live and work locally to Omlet, and we use a local courier that is part of a national network (we like to use local businesses where at all possible) we use them a lot for regular and urgent deliveries and collections, with no problems at all. I have recommended them to Omlet on numerous occasions, but there must be some reason for them not using this company. We have very competitive rates with them, so it can't be that. :?

Interesting as my eglu arrived super fast via Milton Keynes UK Mail (Wednesday)

I got home from work and pleased to see the omlet box behind the 5 bar gate! (As instructed when I ordered).

BUT I couldnt get into my 5 bar gate without pushing the box along using the gate. A neighbour helped me and I can only assume a very strong person dumped it over the top! It was butted up against it and they couldnt have climbed over as I have wire both sides to stop animals etc getting out. When I was reading the eglu booklet it said if there were any returns it had to come back in its original box in same condition etc. Fortunately my eglu is ok & I am 110% pleased. Um

SO sorry that you are having problems Jue. I know that you were super looking forward to your cube being delivered and now it seems to have become a nightmare.

I would love to think that it was a one of thing but from dealing with Omlet deliveries myself I can tell you that it isn`t.

My most recent Omlet delivery did not get delivered on the due date and when it did arrive a day late (had to go into work on my day off to collect it!) it was missing vital parts! Omlets response was laughable IMO

I hope it is sorted for you soon matey.

Dear JooJoo

Thank you for your message it is always disapointing to hear when our customers are let down by our third party suppliers. As mentioned to you on the phone, we will be taking this further with the courier service as this kind of service is totally unacceptable. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the time that you have wasted over the past few days and either myself or Lauren will be in touch with you again to discuss this further.

Best regards,

The Cube has now arrived and is all complete in the back garden and looking fab :D

I just wanted to say a huge, huge thank you to Quin, who really went above and beyond to try and sort this mess out for me. I don't believe that what happened is Omlet's fault, obviously there are major issues with UKMail that need to be addressed - preferably by changing to a more reliable courier, but the product is still exactly what I wanted and I'm over the moon with it :D
