Cinnamon
Not only does the superb Downton reach its finale this week (will she?won't she? - personally I hope so as he seems lovely,& they are so suited),but there are several more super shows on or starting next week 'Turn back Time - the high street' continues. Although I haven't seen the first one yet,I am really looking forward to it. 'Edwardian Farm' start on Wednesday. This was brilliant last time & I am really looking forward to it again. 'Giles & Sue live the Good Life' begins on Monday, which looks like a hoot. I love those two! All this, and Nigel Slater & River Cottage too Oh, & The Misfits starts again next week too
chicken bark
My Mum put me onto Downton Abbey but I don't know how many episodes I missed. The first one I've seen was where the Turkish chap died. Anyone give me a synopsis of what went before? I've recorded Turn back time too. I've also got the fifth series of The Wire waiting for a rainy day.
scarlettohara
I love Sue and Giles too so looking forward to that and the high street one looks potentially good. When does Masterchef start again ? I'm enjoying new series of Desperate Housewives and Nigel Slater

ali-s
Looking forward to Edwardian Farm, I loved the Victorian Farm series. Giles and Sue live the good life is not on until 11.20pm in Scotland, when most people are in bed I have found it on Sky channel 989, BBC 2 England so I can watch it at a more reasonable time Thanks for posting about this Cinnamon. I haven't watched Downton Abbey, another programme not shown on Scottish TV Didn't know anything about it. I liked Cranford and LRTC so I expect I would have enjoyed it. I'm sure there are lots of good programmes I miss due to different scheduling on Scottish TV. Maybe I should always watch the English channels on Sky

Griffin
I love Giles and Sue and cannot believe the inconsideration shown by the BBC by having their first show on at the same time as the last episode of season 9 of Spooks!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've waited months to feast my eyes on Giles but now I'm going to have to watch him on iplayer The BBC could've at least asked my opinion!!!!!!!!!!! Seagazer
Love downton abbey... I dont want her to marry him because I think shes horrible and arrogant and doesnt deserve him!! But thats just me Does she just want him now because her younger sister has got a crush on him??? Hmmm I think perhaps she's just very confused and misunderstood. She's very nice to that young footman so she has a caring side. I think she does really like Matthew but that she's annoyed as Downton should pass to her really. C&T
I have so much stuff recorded at the moment! Downton Abbey - not OH's sort of thing, so they are all recorded and not had a chance to watch any but the first 2 yet Spooks - the last couple are recorded, waiting for us to watch together River Cottage - Not had a chance to watch any of this series yet! All recorded... Whitechapel - The latest one, all episodes sitting there, waiting to be watched Can't remember what else! And now, I have Edwardian Farm, Good Life, Turn Back Time as well... When on earth I am going to watch all this stuff, I have no idea! But I'm not complaining - there's not normally this much good telly on! Seagazer
We really enjoyed Thorne - Sleepyhead last week. It really made me jump at one point. Got the new one on sky+ to watch. I quite enjoyed Whitechapel but it seemed to go a bit odd at one point and unbelievable although I do rather like Rupert Penry-Jones. stoice
They've just shown a clip of Giles and Sue on something for the weekend. The usual wit. Bit odd they were trying to stuff their chickens into their coop when the clever girls would do it them selves once it got dark but i guess it looks better on TV. I like those two though, they have a funny take on things. Monday night tv sorted.

clucker1
Ha! We stuffed our girls into their cube on their first night too. Since then, they have been as good as gold and put themselves to bed every night....we must have scared them witless on their first night! Onto Downton Abbey, it has a fab write up for from the Times for tonight's episode...can't wait! Apparently they are going to do a second series with filming sometime next year. How do you put those smilie things on? Clucker1
jackie45
Hi I see from ads in today's papers that Downton Abbey DVD is due out end of November. I haven't seen any episodes as we were away for first ones so I might treat myself. The spoof on the Good Life might be worth a watch, especially those of us who remember first time round!! MedusA
Oh, & The Misfits starts again next week too I only discovered this by chance and watched all the first series on 4od. What a breath of fresh air it was. OH and I are really looking forward to the 2nd series this week. I have been loving Downton Abbey and I'm looking forward to Giles and Sue and Edwardian Farm. EF is filmed at Morwellham Quay which I went to many years ago and loved. Coincidentally, I was out and about yesterday and drove past Acton Scot Farm where they filmed Victorian Farm and Ben Fogle's Escape in Time. Really must go there sometime. They are repeating the final episode of Spooks late next Sunday night if that helps.
Seagazer
Just finished watching the last episode of Downton Abbey, what a fabulous series that was. I'm so glad that they are going to do another series. Dame Maggie Smith as Violet is just splendid, I'd love her as a grandmother.
