Lakeland

Recommended Posts

Have just been all the way over to Handforth to worship at the altar of Lakeland, to be told in conversation with the cashier, that there is a new store at Meadowhell here in Sheffield!!:lol:

I did meet up with my sister, who lives over the Pennines though so not a wasted journey.

They have some lovely Christmas stuff there.

Oooooooohhhhhhhh you are a lost cause now having one so close :lol::lol::lol: . It's the only catalogue that makes me excited when it comes through the door...........how sad is that :lol::lol::lol:

Me too but lack of money at the moment means mine go straight in the recycle bin

We are on a "no frills" budget at the moment too, due to OH's new business, but I still torture myself by going through the catalogues and tearing out and keeping the pages with things on that I would love to buy if we had money to burn :lol::lol::lol: .

I should do what you do.........it would be better for me :D .

Plum...........I love that little birdie purse :lol: , very cute.

Think I might pop up on friday or monday and look. Meadowhell can't be that bad on a weekday :?...............................................

I was there last Wednesday and it was truly hell on earth. Me and SIL went into Lakeland when we first arrived (we parked by M&S) and picked out a few things we "needed"......but the queues were really long so we decided to look around Meadowhell first then go back to Lakeland......when we got back we had to pretty much queue to get into the place, then saw the queues for checkouts which must have had 30-40 people in them and we just turned on our heels and came away empty handed!

I couldn't believe how busy it was generally. The Pandora beads shop had a queue of about 20 people outside the shop!! Perhaps people are doing their Christmas shopping, but this was amazing.

Good luck with it Plum!!

Oh my goodness  We said we would go to meadowhall on saturday (probably to spend a fortune in Lakeland  ) as it is the last weekend of freedom BG (before George! , thats my new puppy for those who dont know  ) I hope its not that bad :roll:

....but it'll be deserted on Saturday because everybody will be at Stoneleigh, so you'll have the place to yourself :wink:
