The Dogmother
Last night was icy cold and clear but it's warmer and cloudy this morning with some damp in the air.
chickencam
It was very cold at dusk last night, but because it was cloudy the temperature rose a little and it was 10 degrees this morning it is now 12 and sunny I hate the dreary days like yesterday, it is so hard to feel motivated. Loads of housework to do today so the sun will keep me going, I can throw open the windows and air the house too.
The Dogmother
Yes, just turned sunny here too. Wish I was at home doing the housework too instead of doing it this evening.

Angie
It is 12 c and getting very cloudy, I fear it will be raining just now, must be windy high up as the cloud is rolling in.Not nice, i thought it was going to be mild and sunny.... I have friends in Michigan us and it is snowing today....they can keep it over the pond we don't want it .
The Dogmother
Dull and mild here too, I think it might brighten up though - that's been the trend recently.
percy049
Very bright and sunny, only a few wispy white clouds off to the north and south. Freezing though due to a strong wind!

chickencam
I feel for those of you in Scotland the weather sounds awful. We drove to a friend's house for a meal at 8pm last night and the thermomiter in the car was reading 14 degrees, and it wasstill 12 degrees at midnight. It dawned sunny and 7 degrees this morning but is now clouding over and rain is forecast
The Dogmother
We had strong winds and rain last night, but it was pretty warm. 9.8deg at 6am this morning and still with a clearing sky. It's still sunny but the wind has got up again and the clouds are gathering 8.6deg now and the wind is pretty nippy.
ali-s
We have had snow today Too wet to settle for long thankfully. Along with snow we had sleet, hail, torrential rain and gale force winds. Temperature reached 1c.
Ain't Nobody Here
. I thought we had it bad with 3.5 degrees with strong winds and driving rain .

ali-s
I've got two pairs of socks on today and a thermal long sleeved vest. Must be going to be cold tonight as I have just seen a gritter going along the road, I wish it had come and gritted the lane.
The Dogmother
Try phoning your county's highways department (assuming that it works the same way in Scotland) our road is narrow, on a hill and has parking on both sides. It has never been gritted in the 17 years I've lived here, last winter it was so bad that an ambulance couldn't get up it (it freezes to a crust of ice) so I called up the highways dept and kicked up a stink - we then had a visit from the gritter and a grit bin at the bottom of the road. Valkyrie
No need for gritters here, the road had loose chippings put down a few months ago and the road sweeper has been to clear up leaves and all the chippings have been scattered all over the place! But it was 9 degrees around 6pm and now I hear rain splattering on the windows. Methinks we will have a wet walk tomorrow!
LolaLayla
Still very windy today but mild, 10 degrees. Wet of course Thinking about the folks in the east as it is supposed to be worse with them today. Thank goodness we were not planning to meet this weekend
Angie
Windy , wet , although the rain seems a sleet ,and it is cold here . Temp in the "run" is a snug 12 c (out of the wind). I keep hoping the snow and cold stay away just a bit longer say till feb / march when spring beckons but i know sooner or later the temp will drop and i think it will be quite soon .It is the first time i won't get my washing out to blow on the line and that is a true sign of the weather changing . Valkyrie
Went walking around Mudeford Quay and Hengistbury Head today - nearly got blown to the Isle of Wight!!! Very bracing but at least it was dry!!!
ali-s
Very windy here It is quite scary. I really want to go out and see if the WIR is still standing but it is still pitch black outside and I think the wind would blow me off my feet. patsylabrador
I was reading about the weather in Scotland. It sounds pretty fierce. Windy here too, well enough to set someone's windchimes off! Amber alert up north, good luck with it all.
ali-s
WIR still in one piece, the chickens have decided not to come out of the Cube yet. The door from one of the greenhouses has come off and is lying on the grass, thankfully it looks like the glass is still intact. We have torrential rain now and it is still quite dark, I think I will have a duvet day. Candles and torches at the ready incase the power goes off. Log baskets and coal scuttles full. But I am not complaining as this time last year we had snow and I hate snow. The weather can be as windy and wet as it likes as long as it doesn't snow.
