The Weather Thread # 6

Recommended Posts

It drizzled on my washing for s few hours, but didn't register in the rain gauge, then 5pm out came the sun up got the wind and the washing virtually dried.

We could do with some more proper rain, we have some forecast for Saturday night, we shall see....

Yes, we had the same Liz, I didn't put the washing out at lunchtime as it looked like rain. The drizzle was confined to a couple of half-hearted showers, then it improved to be a lovely evening.

10.2deg here this morning and a lovely one so far; a tad nippy first thing but still and sunny 8)

rain, rain.... can someone remind me what that is please? we have had the odd moments of dampness during the night, but nothing that actually makes a difference to the ground, you can see it cracking. I know I will be whinging when it rains throughout August when the kids are off school.

I just wish we had a more predictable climate! I am sure we'd all be much more cheerful if we knew that we'd get say 3 months of decent summer - not necessarily boiling, but sunshine and dry; then we could accept rain in spring and autumn and freezing in winter. it's all a bit topsy turvy at the moment!

It was lovely here at 7am and by 9.30 it was black as midnight, but didn't actually rain.

We have quite a lot of cloud and a cool breeze at the moment, we were forecast heavy rain overnight for Saturday, but they seem to have changed their mind to showers.

We've had rain overnight, I noticed my two full green waste bags standing in the yard were soaking wet! It was beautiful here at 6.45am, so I flung the windows open and stripped the bed. Load no 1 is just finishing off and we've had rain for an hour  Sky is now blue again though  I just hope it holds out for a few hours, as it is so windy, everything will dry in record time! I'm so glad I picked elderflowers yesterday morning, they probably have no pollen left on them now.

I woke in the middle of the night to lashing rain and gale force winds.

Having donned my waterproofs I was out in the apiary at 2am strapping down two of my lighter polystyrene beehives.

This weather is really really pants, with no end in sight according to any number of medium range forecasts.

I want to move to Italy!!!!!!

Frighteningly windy here today. Got home from work to find 2 roof sheets blown off the WIR, wood store roof gone, panels from greenhouse number two gone (only repaired a week ago), lots of branches in the Chickens area blown from the trees and the wheelie bin in the middle of the field.

The wind is howling around the cottage, it is not very nice here :(

We've got gale force winds here too  . The plastic was starting to come off the WIR roof, so we've bungeed the long extending ladder on top of it (before we bungeed it, the wind was about to blow the ladder off too  ).

Also had to rescue my tomato plant in its plastic "greenhouse" - it was falling apart round its ears :( . Whole thing in the garage now :? .

Just praying my dormer roofs don't blow off now  . I can't go through all that with Direct Line again :( .
