LolaLayla
Haven't been on this thread for a while but wondered how you folks down south were doing as I have been aware due to the news that you have had a lot of rain. It sounds really terrible We usually have quite wet weather but it is spread out and we do not have any hosepipe bans as we had rain over winter. Today looks as if it may be a blustery day. It is bright at the moment but there are some grey clouds about so I would not be surprised if we had a shower. I hope you do not have any more floods
lillybettybabs
Power is flickering here, Bird table has been knocked over and broken. Fortunately i moved the hens nearer to the house so they are as sheltered as they can be.

patsylabrador
The garden is flooding. We've got a hosepipe ban and flood warnings at the same time.
Cinnamon
We have just had to bail out the hen pen - it was 3 inches deep And it is roofed too - this is all coming up from the ground as we have a high water table here - nightmare! bluekarin
It was a blustery night. Was rather dreading the seeing the damage this morning, but luckily all that happened was the cover got blown off the garden chimera! The fence between us and next door is surprisingly still standing. I really do need a couple of days of dry weather as the grass is getting a wee bit long. The Dogmother
What's that yellow thing in the sky! Yes, I just went outside and had an almost biblical moment... now I know how Noah felt Driving over to Brailes today was like a wet and wild theme park ride; massive lakes, flooded fields and really strong gales. There was a tree down in the park at the end of the road this morning, not a dead one either. My lawn has standing water and there's even some water in the chicken run, which is usually so dry. Purplemaniacs
What's that yellow thing in the sky! I wondered what the blue was in the sky earlier, we took the chance and went for a quick walk but there were still lots of clouds but it had stopped raining and it was much warmer than earlier today Chrissie
The Dogmother
Just looked out and it's cloudy again perhaps that was the eye of the hurricane... At least the wind has gone now; i had to close the bedroom window last night as it was banging and I hate having the windows closed.

chickencam
We drove over to Witney to keep my Grandad company whilst my Uncle went to Windsor to receive a Queen's scout award. My Grandad is nearly 93 and very wobbly on his feet so he can't be left alone for too long. We had a horrible drive over on the high ground of the A40 there were so many twigs, branches and bundles of ivy etc all over the road, the car was really buffeted by the wind and there was a fine film of baby leaves all over the road, which gave it a really surreal green hue. There was a lot of standing water and we weren't looking forward to the drive back because of the amount of rain that had fallen during the day, but it was largely ok and we let ED drive for the experience of bad weather driving. I was very glad to get home last night, but my Grandad had a lovely day and my Uncle had a break and although he got soaked during the parades he had a great time, so all was well. rachel19
Lovely and sunny and warm here today which almost makes up for the horrendous weekend. Garden was flooded and there was a tree down blocking the road not too far from us Only in England could we be in a drought and have flood warnings - no doubt it is the wrong type of rain
chickencam
Blustery and fairly sunny here today.
The Dogmother
Well, the park looks like a disaster zone this morning; two trees down and numerous big branches too. The new flood defences for the Cherwell are only just holding their own, but the fields and rivers we saw on our way out to Brailes yesterday were very flooded. Sunny with a brisk breeze now but much warmer and DRY!
scubababe
Bright blue sky, big yellow thing up there too with a slight breeze. Positively summer compared to what we have had
The Dogmother
Like that here too, but it's clouding over now.

LolaLayla
Really windy here today. So windy that the pull on the washing brought the pole and of course all my clean washing down OH had to tie the line onto one of our trees. I think it will do, otherwise we will need to dig out the old pole and concrete in a new one
lillybettybabs
I haven't studied today as i decided to make the most of the dry weather and mow the lawn and start sorting the borders out. Foggy the cat helped a little by chasing the leaves and catching worms, he's fast asleep on my shoulder now - snoring.
The Dogmother
Typical boy It was really lovely today and mild too, bit cloudy towards the end of the day though. Karen, the lower car parks near Spiceball and The Mill are closed and the river is about 1-2 feet away from flooding the old sports centre site
