I saw it this morning over Cadbury's walking to the station, unfortunately it was partially obscured by a veil of fog Well done for getting yours into your paper. Mine are the 2nd and 3rd
Old Speckled Hen
Heard a low rumble yesterday. Snow, freezing temperatures and now an earthquake. What more apocalyptic features to this winter? I wonder?
Seagazer
Its really thawing here now thankfully. I think its almost gone from my road, just the pavements to go now. I really hope we don't get the predicted snow on Christmas Eve.
The Dogmother
Just been out to collect my new specs and it seems warmer, plenty of dripping going on and the roads are awash. We still have loads of snow though

ali-s
Freezing cold day today. Temperature of -13c, blue skies and sunny. At one point today both the cottage external doors froze shut Hairdryers didn't work so had to place electric heaters up against the doors to melt the ice. Four eggs from the girls all frozen solid, cracks vertically along the shells. cube and Eglu now filled with straw as we are forecast -17c again tonight. Water dripping through the kitchen ceiling this morning from the hot water tank overflow valve. The pipe going out of the roof most likely frozen. Spent the some of the morning and this afternoon sorting that out Newly floored loft larder room wet along with the insulation under the flooring. Snow forecast here tomorrow and every day until Saturday, whoopie doo a white Christmas
chickencam
We have had a few flurries today but loads of dripping, we have some really impressive icicles. The ivy growing over the gate post has a cascade of small icicles formed from the drips from the snow on the top.
TheGirlsMum
Hubby dug his car out of the snow in Honeybourne yesterday ready to set off home with the girls all loaded up in side when the snow plough drove passed and snowed them in again. He he! BiL had to did hubby out of his door so he could dig the car out again
Lewis
Still tried to snow here again today! The roads were worst today I think, lots of slush and black ice about. Quite a big crash on the Aston Expressway/Spaghetti Junction and cars were crawling along it.

Ain't Nobody Here
It's not gone above -5 for days here . There is so much frozen poo in the WIR, I think a hammer and chisel might be required tomorrow . (And eye protection .)

Just better than the hard hard frost though! - hope you can sort the frozen bits out, and get the leaks dried out. Edited to add - try vaseline around the door surround to stop it freezing - it used to work for me
chickencam
Here are my impressive icicles, the yellow stuff in the background is the sky tonight. These are hanging from the gutter above our bedroom window.

Lesley
Ali-s, you aren't having it easy are you! - hope it soon improves. Impressive icicles! - nice to see but wreak havoc with your guttering. In America thay have long handled brooms for removing them while they are still small, when we were there one Februaury I moaned about spoiling them until they explained what damage they can cause. Just cold here, no more snow overnight. I found out that despite me telling my very deaf father that he 'MUST NOT WEAR HIS YAKTRAX INDOORS' he appears to think that the bus doesn't count He uses them to walk to the newsagents every morning at 7am (fine except I shouldn't imagine for one moment that he takes them off to go in and buy his paper!) and then later catches the bus to Morrisons.....tells the rest of us we must stay at home as Morrisons car park is like a skating rink Soooooooo it's OK for him - at one week off being 80 - to skate around a frozen car park but the rest of us must stay home? I'm beginning to wish I'd never given them to him as his early Christmas present now
ali-s
Ali-s, you aren't having it easy are you! - hope it soon improves. I am totally fed up of this weather. We really do seem to have our own little micro climate around the Cottage We haven't had loads of snow in depth but many days it has snowed and the temperatures here have been so low, much lower than in the village 2 miles away and in the town 5 miles away. "Our" lane was ploughed yesterday afternoon by a farmer I think. I don't know which one but thank you anyway I might be able to get my car off the lane now The snowplough has been coming along the road and pushing the snow across the turning to the lane, the ploughed snow has then frozen leaving a frozen barrier across the start of the lane OH and DS's cars have just about managed to get through but my Panda is hopeless in the snow. Snow here overnight Seems warmer this morning. Shower now working after being frozen yesterday, the kitchen ceiling is dripping Never mind it will soon be Spring
The Dogmother
Fed up here too. No more snow over night, but no less either Icicles 2-3 feet long everywhere - these ones are from my office window Phil is going to try to get to his folks today (having done most of my decorating downstairs while he was stuck with us ) so I should know whether they are going to be able to make it to us for Christmas day. If they can't then c'mas will be delayed by a couple of days.

The Dogmother
Stuck here at work and I'm convinced that it is getting colder! MD has just said that we're getting temps of -9 and -10 over the next few days. I hope he's wrong.
