Daisy,my dear old Daisy Belle,has fluttered off to the great Cube in the sky.

She was 5 years old & very much the grand old lady of the pen - very gentle,very placid.

She never pecked new incomers,just gave them her very special withering stare to let them know who was boss

 

She stopped laying about 18 months ago and became very old very quickly this winter

We expected her to go,but nevertheless,I will miss her.

So sad to lose an old lady like her. RIP Daisy

So sorry to hear about Daisy, Sarah. Losing any chook is sad, but there is something even more poignant (like the end of an era) when such a grand old lady goes.
