Janty
I have two buff columbian pekins that were crossed with silver partridge. As they are growing up the partridge markings are starting to come through and they are lovely. On my wish list I have : More brahmas (of course) - light, dark, lemon pyle, etc, etc. Maybe a mini buff columbian. It could be mini me to Buffy. Frizzle cochins - how funky are they! My frizzle pekins are cool but bigger balls of frizzle fluff. Wow!
Janty
Hubby has just made a really stupid comment. He asked how I can still have a list with 45 chickens in the garden. I said how could I not have a list!
Poached Egg
Surely you misheard each other! Surely he said 'How can you not have a list with only 45 chickens in the garden'

Chortle Chook
I have just seen a Millfleur pekin on the Norfolk GardensWebsite. Talk about 'I want' Luckily Norfolk would be a pretty long cross country journey for me. The Chamois Polands on here are also stunning. I just love that colouring. Valkyrie
Erm, first time I've seen this thread. I didn't realise there was a shortlist for chickens! Mine is getting ever longer. Croad Langshan is at the top I think they are called blue silver pencilled wyandottes Faverolles Araucanas with tails Brahmas Barbie duccles (yes I spelt it wrong but that's what I call them) More pekins. Japanese ones are sooooo pretty. Pine cones (frizzles). Plymouth rock Fayoumi Kraienkoppe Sicilian buttercup - because I like the name and the hens are pretty! Dorking because it's an old breed. And one that lays really dark reddy brown eggs. Or the purpley brown eggs. On the not on your nellie ever again - orpies noisy whingers (still love mine though however irritating) and silkies (not broody AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Chortle Chook
Looking back at my original post at the top of this thread I realise how changeable I am Now I'm a bit more down to earth and would like Banty Orpington (as my OH and I have seen one recently and my OH said he'd love one like that when we have room ) Banty Brahma (they looked so stately at the Reading show) Dorking (because it is an old breed) Vorwerk (can't sepll it but I love the colour) And I'd still like a Scotts Dumpy. That's my real want. The daxy of the chook world
TheFeatheredFiend
We were very lucky when we went hen shopping an managed to get almost everything on our shortlist (see sig) The only one we're missing is a Silver-Laced Wyandotte because the breeder won't have any ready until August (My birthday's in August!) Also, since browsing this forum, the hubby now wants a black naked neck.

Benaberry
I love the girls I've got (am a sucker for the fluffy ones!) and silkies were on my shortlist until a couple of weekends ago, but still have a hankering for a couple of pekins - love the partridge and mottled ones especially. Also love the look of the barnevelders, would like a cuckoo marans for the dark eggs, and faverolles sound so sweet and chilled. Plus i still have a slightly odd 'marmite' not sure if I love or hate attraction to naked necks! Had to be persuaded to leave our usual chicken place at the weekend - they had a gorgeous POL splash Orpington...
percy049
Cheaky chook - like me! Vorwerk Scots Dumpy (which i had to resist getting when i saw one) Buff Sussex Frizzle Lakenvelder appenzeller spitzhauben Marsh Daisy New Hampshire Red
goodinparts
i've just got Barbu d'anvers eggs to put under a broody laurmurf - they are so lovely They weren't on my shortlist at all when I went to Reading, but they were looking at me in that "I am coming home with you like it or not" way that chickens sometimes have, - and they were so cheap it would have been rude to refuse...and they are the sweetest little birds. Ridiculously small - even the pekins look huge next to them - but real characters, with sweet voices and, because they've been hand reared, really friendly and receptive of cuddles. Prudence even lays eggs - almost every other day, bless her. Hope you get a good hatch - I'm completely won over <
