jlo
This is my current "running playlist" I like the look of some of ANHs and I think I have a few from the Running World Linky thing. As for carrying things, I only take the Iphone on an armband thing and I find somewhere in the garden to hide the keys. I have taken one of those water bottles that are easy to carry on longer runs and may do that some more now that the spring is here. Ain't Nobody Here
There's quite a few I've not got (but would like!) in that list - thanks . I'll not copy and paste my list - there's about 1,000 .
Bramble
Can't wait to be able to jog to my own music, but I'm doing podcasts at the moment which tell me what to do and when so need to stick with that 'til I graduate!! Good news is, I've just done week 2 run 1, very pleased with myself, I was DREADING it, really didn't think I'd be able to do it after sunday's appalling performance, but actually, it wasn't too bad. It's a beautiful morning and I found a lovely new route, all of which help
jlo
This one is a moveable feast! It is just the current "running" playlist. When I just did a shuffle of my whole collection, I would be going along quite happily and then find that I was trying to run to one of the slow movements of a Brandenburg Concerto Not a good idea! I will try and get out today but I have a game of golf and then Boot Camp later on...oh and some housework and picking up kids and the rest of the usual! Bramble
Run2 Week2 done this morning, found it quite hard, worse than run1 ths week, but did it and I think I got a bit further in the same time so I guess thats progress, albeit very slow progress?! sparkysmum
Well done Bramble I was thinking that by the time you have finished your programme, the Race for life series will be on. It's a great event & no serious running Mostly joggers, walkers out to raise a few pounds for a wonderful charity. & of course no men Go for it gal, you'll love it http://jointhegirls.raceforlife.org/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=race%2Bfor%2Blife&utm_campaign=Test%2BMaster_Race%2Bfor%2BLife_Exact
Bramble
Thank you ANH and Sparkysmum, tho I think we're getting a bit carried away, I reckon it'll be a while before I'm fit for a Race for Life and I still go out of my way to avoid being seen running!!!! sparkysmum
Vicki I think Sparkysdad is going to do this http://www.mhfs.org.uk/tenk_registration.php. So may be you could put it on the list for him. Thank you. He'll leave me standing too

Made a major mistake by leaving "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" on my running playlist! Really really didn't work! A very short 2.6 miles yesterday but managed to get under an average 11 minute mile so was reasonably happy. I didn't run today but the cycle home from work was at an average 13.5 mph so am seriously considering cycling the half marathon!
Ain't Nobody Here
So may be you could put it on the list for him. Done . I haven't been out since Monday morning . Must try and do one today . (I have done 2 steps and a zumba and am about to go to step now so haven't been sitting down all week, at least .)
Ain't Nobody Here
Managed roughly 8 miles today (I must have switched off the GPS half way round ). Didn't find it particularly easy and my left foot and toes had cramp-like pains after 4 miles . With hindsight, I think my trainer was maybe too tightly laced . sparkysmum
Clearly slacking Vicki Hope your poor foot recovers soon. All I could do was a wee jog around with Daisy. Hopefully going for longer tomorrow.
Bramble
Finished run 3 of week 2 yesterday, so it's week 3 of couch 2 5k from Tuesday, think Im looking forward to it, but also scared I won't be able to do it I need some new trainers and was just wondering if you could give me any recommendations, please? Don't want to spend a fortune but also want to make sure I do what I can to avoid problems when (or should that be if) I get further along in the program? Bramble
Let's list the runs we're training for here too. I'll update this page if you let me know which run you're doing. 5K - date tba! Bramble Ooooh, I think there must be another Bramble on here, that can't be me, can it????
Couperwife
but Bramble, we KNOW that you can do it it doesnt have to be the quickest race, as long as you get round...we will be proud of you cathy x
sparkysmum
Proud of you already Bramble. Re trainers, I like Asics & have stuck with them for years. However you really ought to go to a specialist running shop who have fab staff & can offer advice based on your your own needs/preferences/budget .For T.shirts & other running gear, I like these peoplehttp://www.sweatshop.co.uk/ They usually always have sale stock & are competitively priced You're doing great, gal keep it up. Alli xx
Ain't Nobody Here
Ditto to what the others have said, Bramble . (And, yes, it is YOU on that list .) I agree, get down to a specialist shop. They'll analyse your feet by watching you walk up and down in your socks! Don't feel shy, they are always delighted to help any level of runner in my experience . Ain't Nobody Here
2.8m in 33 mins this morning (nasty, cold wind ).
Bramble
Thanks everyone for your encouragement!!! I have just downloaded my week 3 podcast, so its week 3 run 1 tomorrow morning! There are a couple of running shops that I have heard good things about, so I will pootle along (when I'm feeling brave!) and get sorted with some trainers (on the basis that running is "free", unlike gym membership etc, I'm justifying the expense of some proper trainers on the basis that that'll be the only cost involved ) Have a good running week everyone!! sparkysmum
4.4 km off road - woods & hills, in too many minutes to matter. Many breaks but great fun. Followed by a 20 length swim with my girl.
