meezers
We used to live in Christchurch and we've got friends there who were still coping with aftershocks from the september quake. Obviously we are very worried for them, I've emailed them , but am not expecting a reply anytime soon. Seeing the destroyed spire of the cathedral brought tears to my eyes, such an iconic landmark in ruins seems to sum up the devastation. Really hope the death toll doesn't rise, but can't see how it won't
The Dogmother
I hope you hear some news back very soon Clare xxx Thanks Drew, I think they're OK. Phil is out on the road at the moment so can't call them, plus it's night-time there now. he's planning on ringing this morning.

Seagazer
I've only just heard about this on the car radio, absolutely terrible. I hope the death toll doesn't rise and that if anyone has people over there that they are safe.

CatieB
My ex housemate (of many years) is from NZ and has returned home to live and work right where the earthquake has struck. As soon as I woke up this morning I emailed her not expecting a reply anytime soon....thankfully the joys of modern technology she replied within minutes ; she is safe and well but very shaken - sorry no pun intended -and surrounded by devestation. I hope everyone else with friends and family nearby get similar responses
