Word of Warning - Chirpy Coops

Hi everyone,

 

I just wanted to share some problems I have experienced as I know that there are people looking for walk in runs at th moment.

 

I approached Chirpy Coops (based on the recommendation of other forum members) when looking for WIR2.

 

I received a quote that I was happy with, albeit the service was a bit slow, and agreed to place an order. I was sent a paypal invoice for the full amount including delivery and installation which I paid.

 

I then contacted the company via email to arrange an installation date.

 

I had no response, I called and left a number on the mobile number I had, no call back.

 

I paid the invoice over 2 weeks ago, and was trying daily to ring and emailing every few days. At first I didn't worry, thinking they had probably gone on holiday, especially as I knew others had received a good service from them.

 

However, on Monday, I did get through to the mobile number, and was told "That's nothing to do with me" and was hung up on. I called back expressing that this was the number I had spoken to previously only to be told "Phone the number on the website" I explained that this was the number on the website along with a landline that was "unavailable", I was told "well it's unavailable then" and was hung up on again.

 

The chap I spoke to on Monday was called Andrew, the name on the invoice I paid was Andrew.

 

I have now contacted pay pal with a dispute that I have escalated to a claim.

 

I am unsure about the facts on what has happened with the company, but what I do know is that I have paid for a run which I have not received, and have no means of contact to get delivered or installed.

 

I just wanted to make the forum aware.

I'm :shock: as had excellent service with both my WIRs. I know Dee doesn't always answer emails straight away but have never had those sort of problems. Hope it gets sorted Debs :(

 

I knew you'd had yours from there and were pleased, along with a few other Omleteers which is why I went with them. I hope it gets sorted, I have a completed base and hatching plans... So need to be able to get another WIR soon :anxious:

Hi, just to let you know we have had the same problem with chirpy coops just a couple of weeks ago. They agreed to deliver a large run, 2 weeks ago and didnt turn up, we have phoned constantly and finally got through, Andrew was actually extremely abusive to my husband and put the phone down My husband called back and Andrew just said good luck trying to get your money back :evil: and put the phone down again. Luckily we paid on our credit card and mastercard are recovering the money for us. If you paid on paypal they should be able to do the same for you. I am so sorry this has happened to you too, we like you, looked at their reviews and thought they would be reliable, I guess something must have gone terribly wrong somewhere.

We have since placed an order for a lovely new run with Forsham Arks in Great Chart, Kent and they have been extremely helpful and reliable, so I can happily recommend them. :D

he will put kickboards on it for you :D

i had my first run from him ,he delivered it and had it together in about 20 mins ,and i love it so much that ive just had a extention from him

 

the only problem is at the moment his van has broken down so he is using a curiour but it arrived all labeld and with all the screws part in so me and my mum had it togeter in less than a hour

 

i know he doesnt have a lot of feedback but im guessing lots of people do what i did and phone him and do it off ebay ,also he took cash on delivery . i always find that better

Hi. Haven't been on for a bit but have just had the same experience with CC, I'm afraid to say, except, we were lucky enough not to have paid any money. We did order the run and they did email to ask if they could come the following day to do the work. Luckily, I was busy as it was very short notice so I gave them two alternative dates and that is the very last I have heard from them despite many email and phone calls. It's a real shame because they were so highly recommended by people who had used them in the past but they have had problems. Just before Christmas they had a huge fire and their workshop was destroyed, including all their materials, tools, vehicles, etc and, I'm really sad to say, some of their chickens. Although they seemed to get back on their feet again fairly soon, I have a feeling that things have gone very wrong with them and their silence doesn't bode well. Good luck in getting your money back Space Chick and anyone else.
