Have just had a go at one of these:

Mine is not quite finished as I need to add the buttons, but I've used identical colours. Very simple to make and looks fab! Only took a couple of evenings, so a nice, quick project and great to use up s"Ooops, word censored!"s if you do the stripes a bit narrower. 8)

Got to do another one now for the tent teapot, in red, white and blue!

That looks lovely. I'm still a novice with crochet. Do you think it is easy enough for a beginnner?

I'm making a sun hat at the moment, but the crown is more tear shaped than round :( , but then, so is my head.

Yes yes, definitely! Once you've got the hang of the pattern it's very easy - and if you have to frog the first rows a couple of times before you get the hang of it, it doesn't matter because it is small 8) Go for it!

This is my effort - my teapot is a bit small and dumpy for this size though  I need a bigger teapot! I like that you can pour without removing it.

can't quite believe my luck! Picked up a smashing freecycle offer today; 9 unopened issues of 'the art of crochet', 10 of the little balls of wool that come with it and a binder to put all the issues in. I won't be short of projects for a while! 8)

love the tea cosy

i seem to have a weird liking for tea cosies

Is that not normal then? :?

Now that I have finished my big blanket I'm looking for a new project - may be a blanket for my son, or a few smaller projects - tea cosy will be added to the list

I'm in the middle of creating some items ((secret so shhh) for my swap partner on a crochet forum) which I will post about in a week or so once my swap partner has received them. I had to go to hobbycraft and pickup some bits and bobs and they had a special on Sublime Baby Cotton Kapok DK, all pastel colours, 50g balls for 1.99. I couldn't walk by - 11 balls jumped into my basket

Poet - what a billiant find

Wow - thats lovely. the colours are great. Well done

If your fingers hurt - have you tried clover hooks with the padded thumb bit. if you know what i mean?!!?

What are you going to work on next?

I'm having a break from crochet at the mo but will be starting a new project at the beginning of June. I have to finish off some items for a swap and then my new project. It will again be Lucy Attic 24 inspired

I love those blankets, will have to work up the patience to do one someday!

I got some red sparkly wool from Aldi recently, it's far too itchy to make into a hat but it's great for decorating hats!

Just need to finish off this hat I made tonight by attaching the flower and making the other flower into a brooch
