Reikiranf
That's right, she originally played Dr Who's assistant Sarah Jane Smith in the 70's.

chickencam
My OH has just told me this, what a shock, we all watched her recent programmes and can remember her with K9 in Dr Who
alexgirl73
Really shocked by this, as there had been no word of her ill health. Dreading letting my daughter know in the morning RIP Elisabeth, taken far too soon x
redhotchick
63 is no age at all. RIP Elisabeth. Apparently life expectancy is forecast as 88 for a man and 91 for a woman. This was on the news only today. I wonder how these things are calculated.
Seagazer
That is sad news, I suspect most of us grew up watching her in Dr Who. I know my YS has watched her in the newer series.
Bramble
How sad. I didn't actually know her name (I only knew her as "Sarah Jane") but my Brother and I were watching the Sarah Jane adventures only the other day with my nephews and we both commented that she had hardly changed at all from her original appearances in Dr Who. Very very sad.
percy049
You will be greatly missed.
Alis girls
soo sad another part of our youth gone - Trevor Bannister (Are you being served?) also died this week - another great actor. RIP
Old Speckled Hen
Wasn't she in Dr Who? I ask because I seldom watch it . I used to hide behind the sofa when the daleks came on........ years ago though.
Martin B
Definately a shock. Such a shame as she seemed such a nice person. The first person I thought of when I saw the news was Dan. I can't belive that she a) passed away and b) was 63! She looked so much younger. No word of ill health makes this news even more of an unwanted surprise. Old Speckled Hen
Trevor Bannister (Are you being served?) also died this week - I think that's the whole cast gone now
Alis girls
Apparently Captain peacock (sorry forgot real name) is alive at 90 yrs old. He looked old in the programme
percy049
Wasn't she in Dr Who? Yeah, and The Sarah Jane Adventures (a spin off of dr who)
PurpleTree
So sad & a shock, as like others have said, there's been no word that she was ill. My boys love Sarah Jane Adventures and watch it on iplayer whenever they can. I did tell my eldest this morning, but don't know if he really understand. He's only just got his head around that it's a real person playing the part of whoever on the telly. RIP Elisabeth Sladen
percy049
There was a slight hint she was ill in the last series; they said that sarah jane was ill (with early dementure or something) for a story line, so someone (who was really an alien) could 'take her place'. At the end of the episode, they never said sarah janes illness was a fake If that makes sense!
