Hospital and DH - new update

Recommended Posts

Thanks Olly and ANH :) He's booked in to have the angiogram sometime tomorrow. He's signed the consent form for angioplasty and open heart surgery as well. No idea what happens if he does have the WPW syndrome just assuming they would sort that out there and then. It's all rather vague as I couldn't find a doctor to speak to and DH was getting cross with me  The Vic does have an excellent rep for the cardio side though.

Sorry to read this. FIngers crossed for you. Be calm but insist that you would like to speak to his consultant. They are not royalty no matter what they make like to make out (some of them - anyway). I 'll keep my fingers crossed that you get some action very soon as we are now going away for a few days so I can't check in easily. All the best to you and your DHxx

Spoke to DH again and I've told him he's GOT to ask when he's definately being done. The consultant or doctor is coming to see him today but they don't know when. Hoping he will be direct as he's so hacked off. Oh, and it's his 46th birthday tomorrow so if it's done then what a present for him!

Just caught up with this thread. Hopefully OH got an answer today. Over the last few years my darling father suffered increasingly poor health, and it did seem like an uphill battle, not with the doctors and consultants but with the nurses and day to day care (sorry and I really don't want to offend, but if you make nursing a degree course  then you need a lot of less qualified people who are prepared to do day to day stuff. And I really really don't want to offend anyone, but in my day you needed 5 O levels to be an SRN and less to be an SEN....but people took up nursing because they cared...I having worked in solicitors offices and seen a lot of people at the end of their lives, so I'm just going to say, we need more indians and less chiefs...). I really hope you get a resolution... we have some superb treatment available under the NHS...you need to be persistant to benefit from it.

Thanks again everyone. Feel awful as I forgot to come on last night  and say it's now scheduled for Friday :wall: He found out just before tea. When I went to visit last night I spoke to the ward sister and she showed me where it's written down for then as well. DH is under strict orders to triple check today and let me know if it's altered.

oh Anne, I hope the fact that there are delays is actually a good thing - ie, they dont have to do it immediately. I am sure you, and he, have had more than enough...

Thanks Kate and BC :) Back from visting him twice today and have checked again and he's still in the ward book for being done on Friday. Have told DH yet again he has to KEEP ASKING and if it's changed he's to tell me straight away. BC, I'm also of the opinion that if they were really worried he'd have been done before as someone who came in after him was done yesterday.

Talk about a roller coaster. DH told he was still being done tomorrow then after he came out from his shower told he was being done this afternoon. Just grabbing some lunch then going up to see him for two unless he's in before. Would appreciate lots of fingers crossed please.
