Quigley babies! *photos*

Recommended Posts

At last, some of the promised photos of the Quiglets..

Tiny Baby Quigley – Lewis’ cockerel Quigley has spawned two tiny frizzle pekin baby boys which are just as cute as the original verion… Aaaahhhhhh. I have some more photos of one of them sitting on Sha’s shoulder but I’ll have to dig for those. Sorry, these are phone photos so not brilliant.

On Lewis' hand

Being cuddled by Rosie - she wouldn't put them down, but then they are cute

Thats my boy(s)!

Bit bigger than that now, everyone loved them at Moreton Show.

Their Mottled sister came to live here last week - parents haven't realised yet

Quiglet isn't too loud tbh, he crows a few times early morning then is quiet for the rest of the day. Much quieter than the 3 LF boys we had last year! ;)

I still want to keep one of his sons (flat mottled) but need to see if he's as quiet as Q first ... and convince dad :shh:

They will crow, and sometimes surprisingly loudly for small birds; best avoided if you have neighbours  you'll need to make arrangements for the males (sometimes a 60% hatch rate) and a separate coop for the broody hen and chicks for at least 8 weeks.

It's too late in the year to hatch now anyhoo

I was wondering what arrangements are made for the males because I'm assuming they're useless as table birds. I'm not going to hatch eggs I was just curious - I'm a good student always wanting to learn. :P8)

Just found these Clare  ...............they are utterly gorgeous little boys..........if I didn't have Baby & Basil already at home I would have brought them back ( :P to the misgog next door!), even though I did get somewhat "marked" by one of them  .....they didn't fit in my pocket unfortunately, we did try didn't we Rosie  ..........DS was most upset that I was empty-handed when I got home

We have a Quiglet here, she isn't a Quigley babe, but I wouldn't let the children call her Quigley nor Quigley 2 when it became apparent she was a frizzle...........there's only one Quigley
