ali-s
The weather is getting me down too. Not so much the rain (although it has been raining for over 24 hours) but it is so cold. Outside thermometer is showing only 8oc. My radiators are on Don't tell OH he is away for the weekend and yes I did put on another jumper on top of the long sleeved Tshirt and jumper I was already wearing. The dogs are driving me mad, they need to go for a walk but won't go out in the rain I am entertaining them by sitting in the living room and throwing a ball down the hallway and into the family room. beach chick
classic June day here - raging winds, has been raining most of the night, most plants are horizontal, and of course its the 1st day of Wimbledon!
CrookhamChooks
It's vile here in Hampshire too. Plants flattened, puddles on lawn and chickens disgruntled. No eggs today!

It was so cold yesterday when we got back from the race (not helped by being soaked and muddy) that I lit the stove. I mean, in midsummmer......! BeckyBoo
So when do you think they'll announce the first hose pipe ban then? I bet by the end of the "summer" somewhere in this soggy puddle of an island has got one! Mrs Bertie

Egluntyne
Bet you as soon as our Rainwater Harvesting System gets installed there will be a drought!!!!! Do it....quick!! I've just had to wade (literally) out into the garden to knock down a bit of dry stone walling to prevent the hens from being submerged, and had to unblock two drains as the path at the back of the house was 4" deep and water was beginning to lap over the back step. Aaaaaarrrrgghhhh!
Egluntyne
Just had to go out again and unblock the drain as water is now coming into the back porch. It is pouring down the paths and debris keeps blocking the drain. This picture shows that next to the pink Tubtrug, and in front of the green plant there is the accursed blocked drain! I have had to change my socks 3 times now!! Socks...in June. The northern access roads to Sheffield are impassible due to flooding...Him Indoors is stuck in a queue which goes as far as the eye can see he tells me. I'm sure you will all find this rivetting!! The Dogmother
Poor you Egluntine, will you be putting out a drawbridge for when your knight in shining armour comes home? It's just started again here, after a brief brighter spell, and the wind has changed direction to the north too, so we're bound to get your floods

BeckyBoo
There's a big yellow thing at the bottom of my garden, sitting in a patch of blue. I nearly forgot what the sun looked like! Now we've had a little bask (about 45 minutes) we're drop kicking it up north, hopefully it should reach you soon. This has got to be the worst June I ever remember - our village Strawberry Fayre was almost a wash-out yesterday and every other year has been gloriously hot. It's such a shame when all the schools and such like go to huge effort only to have it obliterated by the lousy weather. Really hope no one on here (or anywhere else I suppose!) ends up flooded, fingers crossed. Mrs Bertie
Couperman
It once snowed here in June when I was a nipper, and it layed! I don't recall it ever been winter for all of June though! I heard on the radio that it has been the wettest June since records began. I think that would still be the case of they only counted the last three days. It has finally stopped raining here now and the lake that was once the garden has started to subside. I am just watching the news, I won't whinge too much as we seem to have got off very lightly compared to some. A bit of respite tomorrow then more of the same is the forcast! It would be lovely to sit in the garden in the sunshine with a nice glass of something, watching the chucks scratting about. They old phrase 'Never cast a clout till may is out' has been changed to 'Never cast a clout' whatever a clout is! Kev.
