This morning I was greeted by a red faced, crouching Cochin when I went to let the chickens out, and then I spotted a Red Amiral butterfly in the garden! Wasn't expecting to see either for a good few months yet

If the daffodil bulbs in my garden are anything to go by, it is practically June.

I was about to let the girls on the borders when I saw the bulbs are well up. 3 eggs today Feels like Spring

The pigeons in our garden are getting amorous actually, I don't know if there has been a time over the last 12 months that they haven't been getting amorous

I've got bulbs popping up all over the place and my fuschia is still flowering .

It doesn't feel like Spring here, however I still have Snapdragons in flower and in bud that were planted last Summer and Iris my speckled Star is showing all the signs of being broody.

My geraniums are still green leafed. Snowdrops are flowering and yesterday I saw the crows picking up tufts of grass for nest building and some small birds that were in pairs!

 

Yes I think its sprung but keep thinking we are in for a nasty shock but I hope not!

 

ps good thing is the little bantums have started laying so thats good as I havent had many eggs lately.

My fuchsia is still flowering the bulbs are peeking through and the neighbours have daffs blooming in their garden. The birds are all making spring type noises this morning and the blue tits are flirting in the bushes in our park.

Today I drove past a cherry tree in full bloom.

I noticed one of the trees at school was covered in blossom. And the daffs are shooting in or garden

Someone tell nature it's early January! It feels wrong to be seeing this before my birthday

Just noticed rhubarb poking through.

I think I will cover it as the weather is about to turn really cold and frosty.

Lovely and mild here yesterday - had the office window open for most of the day. I understand that we're due a cold snap at the weekend though.

Apparently if there is a good food supply pigeons will breed all year round . I found three cheeping chicks in a nest at the end of November and couldn't believe it.

I saw Mrs Blackbird making a nest this morning. I hope her chicks will be okay if winter does catch up on us

Blooming chilly here this morning - my Hubbard has just poked its head through; reckon it'll be going back underground when it feels the cold.

Its been such a mild winter so far! (fingers crossed, I heard its getting colder next week), but I have already seen so many shoots coming through the earth and my daffodils dont realise how early they are! Lets hope it continues, after last year I have had quite enough of snow and ice.
