PhilipCaldwell
Well I have decided to up my flock to 5 so I bought 2 new chooks this weekend, they are very beautiful they are the 2 at the back free ranging with others When free ranging there was minimal squabbling, a few pecks here and there so I have made them a seperate accomadation until they get to know each other, If you can just make out in the first picture they are right near (and can see where the other chooks are and I throw meal worms into the middle and they all eat communally (albeit with wire mesh inbetween) They wont sleep in the box I have made for them though, and make a big fuss when I try to persuade them in, so they slept in the run snuggled up together hopefully going to introduce them into the cube with the others this weekend on another note, they dont seem to like corn on the cob, the others go crazy for it

PhilipCaldwell
thank you all, well after spending a few days apart in seperate runs I thought I would try free ranging again, there was the occasional squabble mainly from the 2nd in command chook pecking the smaller of the newbies Considering the lack of fighting I thought I would try them all in the WIR together and it went pretty well, again the occasional squabble but not bad, the establisged flock seem to have accepted the larger black chook but still have a peck at the white one, hopefully this will die down in the coming days, I have put 2 sets of drinking and eating areas in place At night they all went to bed together (after I had to shove one of the newbies in as it thought it would just sleep in the doorway blocking 2 of them getting in) after that they were all snuggled up like they were mates for ages! clucker1
They are lovely especially the white one. Did anyone see the chicken race on CBBC today...there was another white chicken like yours. What type is she? I think one like her might go on my chicken wish list. She looks very sweet.
