Glad I wasn't giving birth today, hottest day yet, having said that I have loved this hot spell, but must admit I felt a tinge of excitement when I put the recycling out this evening and went round making sure that there was nothing outside that shouldn't be just in case it rains. Our allotment is starting to look a bit singed and sad.

Well we had about half an hour of on-and-off heavy rain - only filled my first water butt by a third no overhead storms, just rumbling around the edges.

 

19.5deg this morning at 5am, still and overcast.

 

Was so hot yesterday that some of the deer at work were swimming in the lakes to cool down.

Wow what a storm so glad OH was here, also DD and baby. It went on for about 4 hours, very loud and sometimes very close. Guttering could not cope with the amount of rain. Power kept going on and off.

Must have been your storm we heard then... it certainly wasn't overhead at home.

 

Very dark here at work and they've clearly had more rain here than at home, currently 21.6deg in the shade, overcast and very muggy. the deer I saw on the way in this morning looked a bit happier than they did last night.

19 degrees here and 99% humidity we had nearly half an inch of rain in two thunder storms an hour apart first thing this morning. It's was so dark at 8am but had all stopped and brightened up by 8.30am.

I drove to work with my lights on this morning air pressure remains down, so I expect more rain.

The water butts are filled (they collect off two big barn roofs) and everywhere smells lovely.

 

Sunny this morning and 17 deg but there's a fair bit of cloud about- maybe we'll get some more.

We seem to have missed rain....a few spits and spots so far and an empty water butt and thirsty runner beans!

The forecast for tomorrow looks pretty wet tho so maybe the garden will green up thereafter - will take a c*****n out of the freezer to roast as it looks like a Barbie will be rained off; will be odd to use the oven again!

 

Can't get motivated to exercise in this weather tho, did 10 mins on rowing machine this am but it so hot in the house (and, now the boys are home, they just laugh at me )

Much cooler here today - 11deg and clear as a bell at 5.30am, I could even see my breath. It was lovely and 22deg about an hour ago, but has now clouded over.

Sunny, warm day yesterday- 25 deg and the same again today, although it's clouding over a bit now.

Think we're due some more rain tomorrow too.

Lovely day yesterday, I was stuck in a hot office for most of it, but then had a lovely meal out at a local pub with a beer garden, it was lovely and warm even after dark.

 

We were forecast rain from midday today but it has been lovely so far.

 

My hollyhocks are finally blooming.

We've had a nice bit of rain for the past hour, not too heavy but very welcome! Temperature has dropped considerably and there is quite a breeze now. Can't wait to get a comfortable night's sleep, it has been averaging at 26 degrees in the house overnight, with windows open!

Same here, I actually had to shut the patio door and lounge window because it was a bit chilly. It has been raining steadily for about 3 hours now, and is really dark.

Cooler at first today, then it got very humid. Torrenntial rain, strong winds and a great thunder storm over at Tasha's for the BBQ this evening, but great fun nonetheless.

Lots of rain, sometimes heavy, overnight. Sunny to start today but black clouds rolling over from the west, so we are awaiting the next downfall. A lot cooler too.

Just had another brief downpour but sunny again. Big clouds around though.

The large water butt at the bottom of the garden is now overflowing following last night's rain, it was just a third full and takes water off the shed roof (8 x 6). However, we have had no rain today, and I have managed to dry a line full of towels very quickly as it is so windy! Even two tea towels which were wrung out by hand!

 

It is very changeable, dark clouds rolling past and bright sunshine breaking through, temperature in the shade is 21 degrees, and still feels very heavy

Ola from Spain´- hot and sunny here. 29 degrees not that high ' had thunderstorms in the night.
