Just been watching the news - OH's workplace is one of the suspected sources .

Scary stuff. I heard on the news today the cooling towers had been checked and treated just in case one is the source. Hope they have found it, and treated it.

A good friend of ours - our best man in fact - contracted this a couple of years ago & it was terrifying.

His was the only case though,so I guess wherever it did come from,it was pretty isolated.

 

I hope that they find the source in this case & get it under control quickly.

We've not heard a word from his company (although that may happen today, of course). We only found out on the news . Over 4000 employees so it'll be hard to monitor them but it's been so high profile, everyone will be on alert for symptoms. He works in a huge business park so presumably all the employees from the businesses round about will have been potentially exposed too.

 

It appears to be people with underlying health problems that are most at risk and he is extremely healthy and fit so I have no real concerns for him. A worry for those not in that condition, though .

According to the powers that be at his work, it's unlikely to be them as they do tests every 3 days (more than the recommended frequency apparently). It's expected that the death toll will rise as there are 51 confirmed or suspected cases now .

It does look that way, certainly. I wouldn't like to be the person who was in charge of maintenance of that tower.
