UKMARCH Posted January 18, 2013 Share Posted January 18, 2013 Today one of our hens Audrey died, she never got to lay and just seemed to suddenly go downhill she went to the vets and was on antibiotics but it was too late. They didn't know what was wrong but I'm hoping it wasn't anything contagious. This year, well last year now, we seem to have been unlucky with the hens and lost a few but on the positive side Maud my oldest hybrid has come through the moult and started laying again I thought she'd definitely be in retirement so at least we can have some eggs again. Glad your old chook is back to laying; my Phoebe had a long moult and I thought I wouldn't see any more eggs until Spring (if at all really as she is 3 now) but she started laying Xmas Eve.
