positive thoughts

Recommended Posts

Last July I had surgery and ended up being septic and in renal failure. I was in hospital for over three months and when I retured home I had to use a walker. I have/had a Omlet Go and three very dear chickens. Thankfully my neighbor took over their care. I have since moved from Michigan to Kansas to live with my daughter and family. The city they live in, Dodge City, does not allow chickens so I have had to leave everything behind. I gave my Omlet Go and chickens (and the netting) to my neighbor. My daughter is looking for a larger home and has found one in the country where I could have chickens again. The only thing is is that they can't decide and I will not put my two cense in because it has to be their decision. So all the positive thoughts for the country home would be welcome. I do miss my chickens very much and I plan on getting a cube (pink) if they decide to move there. Even though I do not have my girls any more I still visit the forum to see what is up in England. I so enjoy reading all the posts.

What a lot you've all been through, I'm glad things are improving for you, and , from someone who knows(trust me!!) it's better to take a wee bit of time looking for that house, it has to "feel" right, then it will be!

Good luck with the chickens!

You all brought tears to my eyes for your kind remarks. All of you are so supportive and caring of each other. I am a perfect stranger but yet you have wished me well. It brings a glad heart to know that there are still people around the world that care. I am mending fast, thank you. I have been very blessed. I know all of you understand the joy of having chickens. I could spend hours just watching them and loved making and finding treats that they enjoyed. If I am able to have chickens once again I will post the fact. Thanks again for the kind words.

Cities and other urbanized areas started banning chickens and other livestock in the 50s and 60s to seem more progressive. The funny thing is that now the progressive among us who are trying to get them legalized again! They are legal in the city limits where I live, but not in residential areas of the county where people usually have larger lots. I have posted about my group's fight to change that and we are starting to make progress!

Good luck for your health and getting to have chickens again!
