Thanks guys - I'm glad it's not just me ... but I am now using Chrome and OF works fine that way - wonder why other websites aren't affected - guess I just need to stop using IE??

For me too if I use Internet Explorer but it is fine with Firefox (which I am on now) - As an aside, I love that little red fox symbol hugging a blue ball on Firefox

Yes, it's a useless browser.

No! A dodgy script is no reason to ditch IE, v10 is actually very good.

 

I had this problem on Friday, unless Omlet have been upgrading the forum I expect it's caused by one of their adverts. Either way, the script is badly written its just that FF and Chrome ditch it faster than IE does.

A moment's googling will show that this is a common problem associated with IE.

Also does it happen on the main website (omlet.co.uk) or just when you are using the Forum?

It seems to be just the forum as I've just popped into the shop and that seems OK. I get a pop up box saying that omlet.co.uk is not responding due to a long running script. It invites me to click on the box stop script. So I do that a few times and sometimes it then clears, or it has been known to crash completely. It happens each time you try to open a topic, and then when that it is open, the actual post. I also had to wait to get into the post a reply box.

Glad to hear it was not just me here in Kansas, USA. It was reminding me of my "dial-up" days. Now I have to practice patience again! I will just get a book to keep by the computer, like I did in the dial-up days, to read while everything loads.

A browser is what you use to view the internet, such as Internet Explorer. But there are other free ones you can use (and in my opinion are much better than IE) such as Google Chrome and Firefox

It is driving me to boiling point, I have had the issue for 4 days now. I may have to look at a new browser, but why should it start now when for years it has been fine ?

I had to give up accessing via Internet Explorer - the Forum works fine via Chrome (which is how I'm managing to post this) and as others say, no other sites seem to be affected ... curiouser and curiouser ...
