Cinnamon
Normally on warm summers evening my Husband & I like to take a drink into the garden & do a bit of Bat watching. We adore them. They nest in our garage roof But this year has been Bat free Has the harsh winter done for them all? Has anyone else seen Bats this summer? Gertie
The bats are still about here most evenings. I love to see them too. Sadly the goldcrests have disappeared
peachachecha
I used to have a bat house on my house when I lived in Mi. I have a funny story about my SIL. One night we were sitting outside at her home and she remarked to me that she did not know what kind of "night birds" were flying about. I told her they were not birds but bats and that ended our night outside.
Chicken deficient
I've seen bats round our way - hopefully you'll see some soon.
chickencam
We have seen loads this year around the street light in our cul de sac swooping for insects attracted by the light.
newcountrygirl
We have had loads too this year. Lovely to watch them swooping around
The Dogmother
Plenty here too - for a short while each evening, both the bats and the swallows are out. Anyone else seen loads of Damsel flies this week?
Luvachicken
3 bats here at least. Haven't seen any damsel flies but have noticed a lot of moths indoors - and not the nice ones either.
Purplemaniacs
We don't seem to have as many as other years, normally we see loads on a nice summer evening but only saw a couple tonight. Chrisse
Chucky Mama
Loads here, infact ES had one fly right though his bedroom window last night! It landed in his dirty laundry basket
Egluntyne
One flitted past me last evening.

Lavenders_Blue
I've never seen any round here, which is a shame as I love watching bats. But I did see one on our hols in the Lake District last week and a friend has seen some in his back garden. Yes, lots of damsel flies around though! Cinnamon
We have Damsels too & a couple of days ago I was reading my Kindle in the garden & the most enormous & beautiful Dragonfly came & rested on my finger. It was both wonderful & a little scary - they have very nasty, spiky, spidery legs
dancing cloud
We're short of bats this year too, though we think some trees have "disappeared" from their woodland. Apparently there's some neighbourhood dispute as to who owns what and one of them has started chopping trees down to expand their claim and their garden Hoping our bats come back soon ...
