Cinnamon
I sold a Clinique bonus that I didn't want the other week, packed it up & sent it off as you do. Now the seller has come back to me saying that an item (a make up remover) , was missing I KNOW all the bits were in there when I sent it, because I double checked it & the make up remover is the largest item, but she is insisting it was not in the bag. I reckon she is trying to pull a fast one.......................... Am going to pop to Clinique tomorrow & see if I can beg another make up remover from them to send on, but I really think this buyer is trying it on. Of course I have no proof that it was sent!!! AAARRRGGGHHH!!!
Bramble
Ebay is almost starting to feel like more trouble than it's worth? I do actually enjoy using Ebay - I've not been selling on there for long, but I've learned quite a bit from the sales I've made, but some of the stories I hear (on here and elsewhere) do make me wonder ... Hope you get it sorted Cinnamon
soapdragon
That's SO frustrating, S. I do feel for you. I still - in spite of some bad experiences myself both as seller and buyer - feel that the vast majority of e bay users are decent honest people but some will take advantage and I guess its the luck of the draw. I used to buy and sell a lot - mainly clothes for the boys and for me - but, given the few bad experiences that I have had and the RIDICULOUS price of postage (combined with the fact that e bay is now charging fees on postage costs) I have really reined in my e bay addiction. It also seems that things are often available cheaper elsewhere anyway; I have just started using L'Occitane and its going for silly prices on e bay....much better value on QVC! Charlottechicken
Oh dear, Cinnamon, you also have my sympathies. Not sure what to suggest either. I don't know where some folk get the cheek. What is it with not leaving feedback nowadays as well? As a buyer I leave feedback when I receive the item to my satisfaction, it lets the seller know it has arrived safely. As a seller, I leave feedback when the buyer has left me feedback and I know everything is OK. I'm getting feedback on about one in five sales at the mo, and I've not received feedback for items I've bought and been happy with and left feedback as a buyer, so rude! merlina
I'm thinking that the weight of the item (and thus postage paid/charged) might indicate the largest item was there? Not sure you can do anything else. I take a picture if any sets being slid into their packaging - which means the buyer has to tell me I deliberately and dishonestly removed anything that's not there. I started doing that when I had a similar problem. I've been thinking I should really sell some stuff as part of my decluttering, but things like this really put me off And agreed about the lack of feedback - only about 50% of sellers seem to be leaving it these days
Ain't Nobody Here
It's basically her word against yours so I'd stick to your guns and maybe she'll back down if she knows you're not a pushover. The weight point is a good one though, any way of finding out the weight of the full pack?
Blackrocksrock
I have had no trouble up until this year and twice things have gone wrong - I bought last week a camera - ex display with tags as new = it was to replace one I had which had gone wrong and I had really loved it and it is no longer made. It arrived and yes it had all the bits but a funny mark on the lcd screen - on charging up the battery and putting it on there was a star crack there and the mode button did not work =- started a resolution in ebay and thankfully this week after him saying it was not sent like that and he had the serial numbers etc I also took photos and posted them on the resolution centre and sent it back - I got my refund yesterday - ok not the return postage but I lost out £6.75 in the end but got the rest back - I am not sure now about ebay... Both times have been refunded - last one was a computer fan which I listed the number of and got the wrong one - he did not even want it back! refunded. gavclojak
It is the most annoying thing when these people try it on! Ebay seems to stack on the side of the buyer all the time, and the cost of listing, then the fee when selling is astronomical! I do like eBay but gone are the days when you used to be able to grab a bargain!
Cinnamon
The other annoying thing is that it is a bottle full of liquid & I remember the post office lady feeling it slosh around in the parcel & asking if it was anything flammable But in the circumstances I feel that my hands are tied. Clinique are giving me another bottle & I will send it out to her today. I did ask if the packaging was damaged or if is had rolled out onto the floor when she unpacked - she has been ultra polite...who knows what is going on?
