chickencam
Good luck to your son today, the exam season is a nightmare. ED doing second year uni exams, DS doing A Levels and YD doing a couple of GCSEs and loads of controlled assessments towards next years GCSEs. I always dread them being ill
bluekarin
Aww your poor son! It's amazing what stress can do to you. Hope he feels better soon and it doesn't end up being GF. My daughter started her As levels last week. She done 5 papers out of the 14 she has to take and is doing them well into June She is revising and has been for weeks like a crazy thing. My DS is in Yr 10 and starting some of his GCSEs. I will be glad when this year is over, but actually it will be worse next year as ED will be doing her A2s and DS will be doing the rest of his GCSES and YD with be Yr 10 and starting hers. Good luck to all your kids with whatever exams they are doing. They will definitely have earned their summer holidays!
chickencam
It is horrible to have them all going through this at the same time, but on the other hand they are a good support for each other and because they are in the same boat there are less distractions. chickencam
Just had a call from ED who sat her third , 2nd year law exam this morning. She said that it was in part really good and in part, in her words, 'car crash'. She failed one unit last year and had to resit at the end of August, she hated that because she loves uni and her second year place was in doubt until mid September. She was determined that this would not happen again, she has worked hard, but is frustrated that her exams so far haven't gone as well as she hoped. She thinks that so far she has passed them, but really can't tell. She is dreaming of a stress free summer.

Willow
It is stressful for them and a bit relentless once they hit 15, I look back and realise how lightly I got off as we didn't take the exams as seriously I get frustrated when the press go on about how much easier they are these days. I think the results overall are improving because youngsters work much harder for their GCSEs and A-levels than in our day and if my son's teachers are anything to go by the teaching is better too. Bramble
I feel for ALL the youngsters doing exams. At 40 something I've got exams at the end of June, can't BELIEVE how stressful it is and I've only got two to do with nothing (other than my pride/self esteem) riding on it

My sister has just finished hers, she had a similar amount. I, on the other hand, only had 1...
chickencam
My ED had an exam that she was dreading this morning and it turned out a lot better than you thought. she did get drenched on the way home though.
bluekarin
That's always good. My daughter sat one which she found really easy, and then spoke to her friends who thought it was quite hard! So she is now doubting what she has done But I am sure she has done really well. She has done enough revision to make sure, and if her mocks are a anything to go by (which she didn't revise for) then I think she will get the marks she deserves. Still, it's a long wait until August
