DrVickyS
Hi everyone, I am a poultry behaviour and welfare scientist at SRUC (Scotland's Rural College) and, in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh, we are hosting a FREE online course in April 2015 on chicken behaviour and welfare. The course is accessed via the Coursera website (where, by the way, you can take all sorts of other free courses as well, from child nutrition to astro physics!) https://www.coursera.org/#course/chickens You can watch the introductory video to see what the course is all about. We hope that you will join us in April - the course is short (5 weeks) and takes a couple of hours a week to listen to videos and join in the discussion forums. Your feedback will be really helpful! Kind regards, Vicky

Mars
You should give that course to my hens, today They wouldn't let me do anything in the garden until they got the treat they wanted.
bill2b
The chickens mum (my wife Irene) has enrolled, looks like fun. Perhaps it will answer the question as to how our 3 little ladies have taken over our lives and stolen our hearts so quickly.

DrVickyS
Hello everyone! Delighted that you will be joining us. You should have a lot of opportunities to discuss your experiences during the course, so I look forward to hearing from you! I'm not sure that I will be able to answer ALL questions, but I can certainly see that Dancing Cloud's and Mars's chickens have their owners trained very well! > All signed up Looks like fun - how many different types of emotional blackmail > can your average hen exhibit in one day? > You should give that course to my hens, today They wouldn't let me do anything in > the garden until they got the treat they wanted. > Me too! Just for interests sake really. They may regret asking on this forum Mullethunter, you are exactly the sort of people I want to reach for the course, so on the contrary! Look forward to speaking to you in the spring. Regards, Vicky
