chuckmum6
Just gathered the family in the attempt to play Risk and none of us could figure out how to play it, can anyone help? We shuffled the cards dealt them out and placed the corresponding number of infantry on the spaces determined by the stars on the card, then we were stuck. We eventually gave up feeling rather stupid and a tad grumpy. What do we do next? What are the cards and dice for? If anyone can give really simple idiots guide on how to play it would be most appreciated! This is a new version I think 5 army's and no mission cards. chuckmum6
Thank you, I did look at this and it seems to be an older version, I will have another read through.
Olly
Risk! It brings back many happy memories of childhood (or 'arguing with my brother and then going off in a huff' ). I think you throw the dice to determine how many troops you can move around/how far you can travel but it's years since I played it. Anyone remember a game called Buccaneers, with little boats and 'treasure'?
Luvachicken
Sorry, but have only played the original Risk, and that used to be great fun. Hope you find out how to play the game you have.
dancing cloud
Only played original Risk too, and I remember causing all sorts of arguments when a couple of us formed an alliance to beat all the other players and rule the world together. Very Game of Thrones! I'm sure there'll be instructions out there somewhere. We've still got Buccaneer, though some of the treasure's had to be replaced when it's been lost/eaten by a dog/adopted by a cat. Best played after a couple of glasses of something, when it all seems a lot funnier than it really is . Still got Monopoly and Scrabble too. Anyone remember Frustration and Headache, where you had to push a plastic bubble in the middle of the board to roll the dice? Eternally useful, when you've got a family of dice-fixing cheats like mine!
chuckmum6
Once a little more clear headed, too much mulled wine, it all made perfect sense! We enjoyed a good game of world domination. Thanks everyone.
Kirstine
Oh dear, Risk. We 'lost' it in a house move about 10 years ago, and in doing so probably saved our marriage! Good luck...
Plum
Original Risk was a great game but it was a long time ago and my memory.......sorry
Valkyrie
At first glance I thought the answer may be . . . very carefully! But I've never heard of it - nor Buccaneer. Hated Trivial Persuit. But my favourite was always Pictionary. Especially when it's girls versus the boys. We always won. One year they made a mint choccy game with it. My hubby's cousin and I felt so sorry for our husbands that we shared all the mints that we had accumulated with ease. Now that's a game where OH never runs around doing a lap of honour and then lies on the floor waving his legs in the air going whaheyheyheyheyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
