Guest
I have to agree, it's very depressing We usually come home from work on a Friday summers evening and sit out in the garden. We haven't done it once, much too cold I'll take any warm weather, any time, work or not Last year we went to Portsmouth for the weekend at the end of October (half term) and the weather was fantastic. Cate in NZ
I have to admit that I feel a little bit cheated. No summer to mention really and now the evenings are getting noticeably shorter . We went to the coast yesterday, managed about 15mins sitting heroically on the beach wrapped in fleeces before we took pity on MIL who was looking miserable (and simply isn't fit enough to tackle an embracing walk on the sand dunes)................ and decamped to the nearest pub
chelsea
i must be the odd one out here. I do like sunshine, but im not a heat person, ...cant stand it. I love winter and autumn, especially cold and frosty mornings - out walking with the dog, crispy autumn leaves crunching underfoot. All wrapped up in scarves and gloves - seeing your breath in the air. going for a walk and coming home all pink cheeked and sitting with candles lit eating home made soup and bread.........lovely!!! All wrapped up in scarves and gloves - seeing your breath in the air. going for a walk and coming home all pink cheeked and sitting with candles lit eating home made soup and bread.........lovely!!! I think my favourite thing about this country is the seasons. I do love summer best, I thrive in warm weather and sunshine and am never happier than when zipping about in a green, lush garden with the sun shing and a light breeze blowing through my washing line. But I'm happy enough in a proper cold, crisp winter with a bit of snow and a cold nip to the air, and I could go on about my expectations of spring and autumn too, but really what I'm trying to say is that this is August......... it should be warm and dry, most of the time. Instead now our seasons are becoming unpredictable, grey, wet, windy and depressing............ all year round We don't even get proper winters any more I still feel cheated
chelsea
i agree on that, the weather is most peculiar, too much wet. like you say not even proper snow/cold weather now. I can remember when i was small - one time in the seventies (cant remember the exact year) but we had snow deeper than the rooves of cars. all we get now is like you say -all this grey stuff
