Ain't Nobody Here
Just back from a week in Durness, which is right up on the north coast of Scotland. Such a stunning part of the world, totally unspoilt and peaceful. It seems impossible to take a bad photo up there so I have loads and loads but I won't bore you with them all! *click* Edited July 12, 2015 by Guest

Olly
Oh I have such happy memories of a trip to Durness on my one and only visit to Scotland, I remember a beautiful beach. We only stayed there one night but it has stuck in my memory! I seem to recall that it is the most northerly point on the Scottish mainland? (I know John O'Groats usually claims that but I think Durness is actually further North? ) Please put the link up, I want to see your photos! Ain't Nobody Here
Sorry, the permissions were set to private . Try it now . Dunnet Head, near John O'Groats, is technically further north but Durness is pretty close (and Faraid Head where we went for a run - the photo of the cows plus a few others - is even closer). Cape Wrath is a bit further north but you have to get a boat across the Kyle of Durness then be driven 10 miles just to see a lighthouse and some scabby buildings, so we didn't bother!). Cat tails
Lovely photos! I really need to get myself to Scotland at one point.
The Dogmother
Stunning photos Vicki, looks like Riley and the boys enjoyed themselves too. Would the lads like two lurcher-shaped running companions?
bluekarin
I've been looking at your photos on FB and the place looks beautiful! It's very close to where I was looking at going for my 40th to try and see the northern lights! What's the name of the place you stayed at, so I can squirrel it away for another birthday
Blackrocksrock
Wonderful views - the beaches are always so lovely and my son lives now at Dunnet Head out of Thurso and I love it there. Glad you enjoyed your holiday - looks like you were kept busy keeping fit!. I am biased about it being Bonnie Scotland too... Ain't Nobody Here
It was about 3 miles east of Durness, all on its own . We booked through Norsehaven Cottages (they're on Facebook) and ours was called Ceannabeinne (still don't know how to pronounce that ). Ain't Nobody Here
We were pretty lucky apart from one day - this was the same view on the first day and the fourth day . It didn't lift all day .
Scary Mary
Wow, what a super place and what wonderful photos - you should enter the one of the cows into the Country File Calendar competition, its quite something. Mary

Ain't Nobody Here
Thanks, Mary . I'm sure I've not got a hope but I've printed it off and sent it in . The colours haven't come out quite right but I'm sure it won't be top of their pile anyway .

Valkyrie
Wonderful. It's why I love Mull - so peaceful, secluded beaches with cows! Although the ones on Mull seem to be more shaggy beasties. Those are gorgeous sleek and shiny beasties. I love cows!
chooksRCute
Sorry to crash your party but I'm sitting here with a big smile...lovely photo's & happy memories for me, born & raised in Thurso. Beautiful, peaceful (aside of the seagulls & comerants) & hardly any buildings when I left. Looking on Google earth, the town's may have grown but the beauty remains Victoria
Ain't Nobody Here
Glad to have made you smile . I used to visit Thurso many years ago as my boyfriend at the time got a job up there (not the handiest place for getting to - we often used to meet half way in Inverness!). Nice to see another Victoria on the forum too .
chooksRCute
Ah thankyou Yes as I remember Thurso was always pretty isolated with grass growing over the main A road in! Did ur fella work at Dunray by any chance?
