Alis girls
You will also have spent a penny in every county - not many people can say that.
patsylabrador
Sorry about first picture, it's come up big despite my best efforts and doesn't fit. I've bought a map of counties, a pin board and some pins to denote different things. I hadn't thought of that category AlisGirls - counties in which I have had a pee. Hmm, why not? We drove around Leamington Spa to get a feel for it and it was not what I expected. I suppose the words Royal and Spa should have given me a clue. It's very Georgian isn't it. Elements of both Bath and Brighton. I could picture it with carriages and silly, vain Georgian people dashing about. Here are some photos of Warwick and some baby House Martins I believe that I saw at Charlecote House. Warwick was preparing for a folk festival and it was all very English Summer [/url[/url[/url
Cinnamon
Those buildings in the last photo are gorgeous - shame about all the cars We went to Cumbria, The Lake District & Scotland last week, where I hadn't been since I was a small child, & it was just gorgeous up there

The Dogmother
You weren't far from us then! When you get to Oxfordshire, stay at The Falkland Arms in Great Tew... Beautiful Cotswold village, very near us.

Charlottechicken
I don't stay in B&B's that often but if you need to stay in Cambridgeshire to complete your county tour, I can recommend Castle Farm guest house in Fotheringhay, lovely place and Fotheringhay is very historic, being both the birthplace of Richard III and where Mary Queen of Scots was beheaded. patsylabrador
Thank you Charlottechicken, it's good to have a list of recommended places. The Holiday Inn was perfectly fine, clean, pleasant and the food was much better than I expected but if we're going to do this I want to stay in places that feel like the county I'm in. Grandmashazzie
What a great idea. The cars do so spoil that area. I am just back from Cornwall and loved St Ives but the traffic congestion in those windy little streets was awful, really spoiled my day. Mind you I was buggy pushing with three other children.
