Valkyrie
Chilly first thing but at least no frost. The moon has been fabulous the past couple of nights by the way. Daytime so hot that the flies were hitting the windows upstairs to warm up! So were the harlequin ladybirds. Went for a walk but it was way too hot. Often in October, usually in November but very rare in Cornwall in September. Not quite so cold last night but properly summer hit during the day. Lovely. The Dogmother
A warmer morning and gorgeous here now, hard to tell how warm it is as the aircon at work has been set to Siberian temps!
Valkyrie
Misty first thing but what a terrific day again. Feel quite lucky - and warm! LOL!
mullethunter
Fishing in County Cork - beautiful day here too. Wall to wall sunshine and warm enough for a Tshirt
The Dogmother
I walked the dogs in t shirt sleeves this evening, beautiful sunset. I took a break at work and went down to sit in the courtyard; was very hot there indeed!
The Dogmother
It's been unbelievably warm this weekend, absolutely beautiful. It has just clouded over though and look like it might rain. Who'd have thought that we'd see temps in the 20s in mid-October?
mullethunter
Lovely here too. Highish teens rather than 20s and with morning and evening fog but beautiful just the same.
soapdragon
Our ancient boiler coughed loudly then conked out yesterday so am hoping that the warm weather will last another week until we can (hopefully) get it fixed! A real bonus to get bedding in the wash, on the line AND dry by the end of the day at this time of year!
Patricia W
It got up to 23 this afternoon in the sun, in South Oxfordshire. Forecast tomorrow is a high of 13!
The Dogmother
The weather has definitely nosedived today - from bright and chilly yesterday morning, with warm afternoon sun, to overcast and cold today. The wind has switched to the north and this morning was very dark I know that we'll get a few lighter mornings next week after the clocks go back, but I never like the darkness at the end of each day. mullethunter
Still been quite nice today - bright and fairly mild. Not looking forward to the freezing cold weekend though- or the clocks changing.

Lewis
I'm still holding on to summer and defiantly wearing shorts but it's definitely got colder here over the last week. Due to be 20oC this weekend though!
Daphne
Gosh, that's warm Lewis! It's still sunny and warm here, tomatoes still growing like mad, and shorts are on. However, weekend will go to 14 in the day and 4 overnight on Sunday apparently

It always surprises me when, for example, there’s a storm coming, and you talk to someone who has no idea!
Valkyrie
Bit like April showers today! But we have had some fair weather here. My son and his g/f came to stay over last night - they had to go back early because they've found a house to rent and needed to sign today, but he rang the agents and was able to change it to tomorrow so that he could stay here longer. We walked around the field and when the wind blew the leaves he and g/f were running around trying to catch them and make wishes! Great fun! I had been in Hoddesdon on a quilt retreat and it was lovely all week. OH was sending photos of fabulous sunsets.
Minnie&Moose
It's been snowing here this afternoon in north Oxfordshire. Neither the chickens or I were very impressed - they took one look at it all coming down and refused to leave the safety of their house while I was trying to clean them out! Lots of grumbling from them and me!
mullethunter
What is going on with the weather this week?! On Tues and Weds we were in shorts and vest tops digging our new pond, then last night it went down to just over 2 degrees and we’ve had horrendous hail showers for most of the day! Valkyrie
Bitterly cold wind but we had about 5 minutes of large sleet flakes late this afternoon. Now considering starting up the fire!

Lots of grumbling from them and me! REALLY?! You're so near me too, but none here, very cold rain though. It was lovely and sunny first thing with a hard frost. I was down seeing my dad and came back through rain mid-afternoon, it rained most of the rest of the day, and I was outside moving stuff off the patio in preparation for work starting on there soon. I got hacked off with getting wet, so came in after a couple of hours.
The Dogmother
After a wet and dark start, it cleared and was chilly but sunny. I was sorting things out outside in preparation for the builders, and watched a dogfight between 2 buzzards, who were being mobbed by 2 crows and (bizarrely) a seagull. Had a lovely walk this afternoon with Minnie&Moose; the wind was bitterly cold.
Valkyrie
Pretty much the same - beautiful day after heavy rain and strong winds (no snow as predicted by the weather alert!) overnight gave way to clouds disappearing as the sun rose. Bitterly cold though (tad warmer than yesterday because that was really cold) - supposed to be minus 2 here tonight! We took the in-laws for a walk around the field and we were all yawning and nodding off at 7pm! I'm the last one up! The planets, stars and milky way are clear and the moon is just rising. The Dogmother
-3deg here this morning, a bit of a surprise as it was mild and cloudy when I went to bed, so hadn't put the frost screen on my car Beautiful day though and very dark right now. Valkyrie
I gather it was minus 1 last night but by dawn a lot had thawed already and it was registering 3 degrees. We had a lovely morning but then the rain came - been quite heavy this evening. The wind has changed round and coming from the south west instead of the north east, so warmer.
