Princess Leia
Upgraded ours from Win7 to 10 about 4 weeks ago. No problems so far, everything works as it did. Computer also boots up a bit quicker. If you do it allow plenty of time, though. Don't start at 9pm like I did!
Valkyrie
The initial issues may have been sorted out by now. Hubby changed his from the start, plus all the other computers at work with no problems at all and he loves this new version. But I know an awful lot of people who have had dreadful problems without being resolved. One lady has been told to use her TV as a screen and even that didn't work. My neighbour's daughter had her laptop upgraded and the result was a split screen and corruption of files. It was taken to PC World where they uninstalled it and put Windows 7 back ont for her - she lost all her data but the laptop is working perfectly now. The techy did say at the time that this split screen was an issue that they hadn't come across and that they were having to uninstall so many with different problems. As for me, I don't like Windows 10. I didn't have problems but I just preferred the old version.
sjp
Upgraded ours from Win7 to 10 about 4 weeks ago. No problems so far, everything works as it did. Computer also boots up a bit quicker. If you do it allow plenty of time, though. Don't start at 9pm like I did! when I went from 32bit to 64bit W7 I started a 7pm that took all night XP to 32bit W7 by the time I'd installed all the new drivers was about a week re installing XP after a HDD through a wobbly and fried it's self about 6 months to put nearly every thing back on plus all the updates but that was pre broadband it took me 8 hours to install a SSD because nowhere in the manuals did it say how to get windows to see the dam thing then it took about 4 attempts to move Steam across and to get it to work so I think it'll be a long process with my luck think I'd better get a USB stick to Back up my office files first that'll be a pain in it's self there was a fairly big update back in November apparently which is partly the other reason I'm thinking about updating
chickencam
We have done it and it does seem to do a lot of updates one of which last week took a couple of hours when my OH wanted to log into the office. ED wishes she hadn't done her laptop because she can no longer play DVDs on it. DS has had no problems though.
Lewis
I upgraded mine and had no problems with it, I haven't noticed massive changes to be honest - can't remember whats different to Windows 7 now!
Blackrocksrock
Did mine from windows 8.1 ages ago as I hated 8.1 - looks more like windows 7 than 8.1 did and no problems at all with it - it did not take too long either.
dancing cloud
Upgraded my ancient laptop and it took 4 days . Because I did it in the week, when I was at work, I set it going at night or in the morning and left it going to it till the next night/morning, when I could move it to the next bit. It is a very old laptop, with hamster-in-a-wheel-level power, and our broadband is exceptionally slow as we don't live in a town, but it does work and now works much more quickly. 4 days was bit excessive though!
