Broadchurch - series 3

Recommended Posts

Having missed the first series we started to watch the second as the hype was so good. However, we soon gave up as it made no sense without having seen the first series and followed the characters (this wasn't just us; loads of others said they felt the same!) Therefore we are giving the third series a miss too. Maybe we'll get the first on DVD for holiday watching.......

We missed the first series too and watched the second, like you, because of the hype. I thought it was dire.

Decided to give this one a try because it will be the last and I'm glad that we did... It's so much better and I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to next week episode.

Yes,it was nice to see familiar faces. Am thinking Lenny Henry might be a baddy, otherwise it's a very small part for him

 That's exactly what i thought!

We thought about watching the Replacement but it sounded a bit dark and creepy. I can cope with murder but if it all gets a. It too twisted I dwell on it too much. Did think Broadchurch was good, couple of bits of dodgy acting but it gave a very uncomfortable insight into what it would be like to suffer an assault and how daunting the reporting process is even when you are well treated

Fair enough. If you did want to give it go, I wouldn't call it dark, more of a psychological drama. It was gripping in a 'I wonder what's going on?' sort of way, which personally I find very engaging as it keeps my attention. In fact most of the acting was done by suggestive looks :D Plus there were plenty of nice people, clothes and interiors to look at :D I also like the fact that it was a new angle to explore :D

We really enjoyed it too.

My Grandparents used to live in West Bay, where a lot of it is filmed, so I recognise a lot of the scenery. In fact one house used is almost next door to their old home, where I spent many long summers.

Looking forward to the next episode.

FABULOUS acting, especially her who used to be in Coronation Street!

I like Broadchurch too but also because a lot of it is filmed in Clevedon where I live - all the shop scenes, the house scenes and the churchyard are all in Clevedon. In the first series it was really funny because two characters were talking to each other - one you could see was in Clevedon and the other in West Bay. I watched them all morning once when they were filming a scene - unbelievable how many takes they have to make!

Loving the replacement too!!

How funny Sophie P!

I used to live in Henley which is close to Reading, and they once filmed in Henley town centre , but the scene out of the windows was of West Bay, where my Grandparents lived and where I used to holiday every summer as a child.

They also filmed in a cafe in Reading, which I was lucky enough to see a bit of.

The rape victims house is almost next door to my Grandparents old house this series and the wooden bus shelter where Olivia Coleman was talking to Dannys mum in West Bay was where I had my first proper kiss!

After seeing last nights episode, I have a theory.

Trishs lover the morning of the attack....was a woman. Hence her not wanting to say who it was. My money is on the woman who hosted the party. I think her Husband found out and possibly carried out the attack.

Anyhow, just a theory...we shall see!
