Lewis
We have a breeding group of Chocolate Frizzle Pekins in an Eglu and two hens went broody a few weeks ago. I'm at uni so my parents just left them to it "as they weren't laying" and now we have... They hatched a week ago and the two males are still in with them (which I would never normally do) and they've been getting on fine so we're leaving them be... sjp
He most be a nice lad for a broody to let him get that close at a week old. even my most chilled out broody would see of My cockerels which is a shame really as they've all been desperate to find the chicks food and their never anything other than inquisitive with broody chicks and growers. it's the girls that can be trouble I like that top right hand looks like a genetic experiment gone wrong is it just 2 chicks you've got? Lewis
They are really sweet cockerels, great with kids and the other chickens. We also have a huge Naked Neck boy who is really nice, the nasty boys get eaten Just the two chicks as they managed to sneak two eggs under them. Will ask for some more photos this weekend. Daphne
Are chocolate Perkins sex linked in the same way orps are?
Lewis
I've never thought about it, just googled and apparently chocolate boys to black hens gives chocolate pullets and black cocks. The chicks are two different shades so will have to see how they grow!
