Posted September 6, 2007 Share Posted September 6, 2007 Over the last 24 hours Elf one of my ex battery girls became a little quieter, and more hunched than usual, this afternoon I decided to take her to the vet who started her on antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. She came home and seemed quiet, and sleepy, the other girls kept coming over and looking at her, and at 6.15 she died on my lap in the garden It's almost a year since she came to live with us OH and I had spent most of the day clearing an old shed to make their new run area. Just remember Elf had the most amazing 12 months with you to stretch and peck and scratch and roam free - you gave her the most amazing life and she would have loved you for it. What a nice way to go for her though, nice and quiet and on your lap, take comfort in the fact she led a wonderful end to her life with you.
