Pleasant Surprise

Recommended Posts

Wow, I hardly ever find money lying around, if I do it's more likely to be 10p not £100! :(

I could think of a load of things to spend it on, none of them as sensible as yours!

Mind you, I might start trawling our house, middle daughter has previous for stashing cash - she took £147 from a pot on top of a cupboard a few months ago, "I was looking after it for you mummy" was her answer when I asked why she had taken it! (she is only 4!!) She also filched £16 I had put on the kitchen table within about 3 minutes of it being there!! She likes cash and whenever she goes out she finds coins on the floor. I'll watch her as she grows up, I think she's going to be rich!!:lol:

At least I know where it's all gone!

One of my cats does that Mrs B - he steals anything shiny left lying around and stashes it under my dressing table - I'm trying to convince him that £50 notes are nice shiny things to bring home :lol: We've had sparkly hair woggles, my watch, screws, paper clips, drawing pins ( :? ).. you name it, if it's shiny and portable, he'll have it - I'd swear he has magpie genes!

Hey, you need to get a money making wallet like I have then you'll be even richer.

I honestly don't know where all my money comes from, but I always seem to have a nice wad on hand.

Blimey - this isn't an experience I've ever had. Maybe there's some sort of teleport link from my wallet to yours. Money just goes into my wallet, but there's never any there when I look!

Me neither Richard - it's called 'being a parent'!

On happier note - I got a rebate from Powergen at the weekend, but I had to work for it... my consumption of gas and electric is below what they estimated, so my account with them was in credit - I spent half an hour on the phone (free call) sorting it out; gave them new readings, they re-calculated my direct debit and I get just over £100 back :D:D:D They were very helpful, just keep checkng my account for the credit, plus I will be £10 better off per month as the DD is less.

There is no way we will ever find £100 lying around our house - I get excited if I find a forgotten £1 coin in a pocket.

We have just done the same exercise as you Clare - hard work isn't it? We are going to save - wait for it - £47 a month on our DD payments....
