Guest
Since I found out I was pregnant, I've had all kinds of problems with my skin. I think because I've been so sick, I've become dehydrated, and it's taking it's toll on my face, rather than depriving the baby. I now have a bit of a flaky face, especially around my nose and cheeks, and really need a recomendation for an intesive moisturiser to help things improve. I usually use avon moisturiser, but my skin is just sooking it up in record time, and then flaking again within about an hour. Help!!!!! Egluntyne
I'm a big Clarins fan. Multi active day cream.
Christian
Nivea Soft! Or Molton Brown (slight price difference) I use MB when at work at the aircraft plays havoc with my skin. The nivea stuff is quite thick but works well. I found the dramatically different moisturiser from Clinique to be too greasy, but maybe that would do? Snowy
Have you tried an exfoliater first Chookie? Using a moisturiser on already flaky skin just glues the flakes down temporarily. Not sure which exfoliator to recommend though - I've always used a rough face cloth! Also make sure you are drinking loads - I used to keep a tumbler in the bathroom when pregnant and made myself drink a full glass of water every time I used the loo! Lesley
A brillo pad? What's wrong with salt and olive oil Christian? I use a plain moisturiser - FSC's (Food Supplement Company) Natural Source Viamin E Cream, with Calendula. About £4.50 for a 100g pot. chelsea
I use Boots Botanics (with natural ingredients), have used it for years and its good. I did find Liz Earle (from QVC) excellent ....really good. but after a while I found it expensive as I did use to over-indulge on it! pepe
Liz Earle, lovely products, similar price to Clinique, she has a web site, have a look
FORENSICA
I use Mary Kay or Body Shop moisturisers. I guess you could try hand moisturiser with hemp from body shop on the most dry areas. That cream is just the best ever (it smells though )
feemcg
I use the Simple range (for older skin ) as I'm sensitive to just about everything. I also use the Aveeno range (which used to be prescription only but you can buy it in Boots now) - the oatmeal is a great exfoliator. beach chick
I've tried all sorts, but the only one that really suits me is Oil of Olay (or Ulay, as it used to be called...) however, for dry flakey skin on the kids, I use aqueous cream which is available on prescrip from the GP. could be worth a try, esp. as free while you are pregnant? Guest
I really like the sound of hemp oil, as I have incredibly sensitive skin. Where would I get that from? I've worked my way, through the years, through so many expensive moisturisers, all of them work for a while, then something happens and my skin reacts to it, normally about 3/4's of the way through a tub ( ) and I can't use it again. Liz Earle was a favourite for a while, as I went through 3 tubs before my skin reacted, and Mary Kay was great, as my friend was an agent for Mary kay, so she kept me supplied with samples till the inevitable happened! Christian
Moisturisers with hemp are available from The Body Shop, I think. Probably Holland and Barrett too. Good luck!
Ain't Nobody Here
I have really sensitive, dry skin on my face so after discovering Aqueous Cream BP which I get in a huge tub from the chemist (not on prescription & it only costs a couple of quid) I've never used anything else.
