ali-s
Tallulah my cockeral in disguise will be returning to his breeder at the weekend He has been with me since the beginning of August and I have become really attached to him The breeder couldn't have been nicer, apologising all the way through our phone conversation. I said I wasn't bothered about a refund but he is going to find me a pretty girl as a replacement. Now do I accept the replacement, and let her stay in the red Eglu and run for a while and then let her in with the others? Will she get lonely? I like to keep newbies seperate for about 4 weeks to make sure they are healthy and the others get used to seeing new chickens without coming into contact with each other. OR do I accept the replacement and also buy another one as well for company and easier introductions Not sure I really need nine chickens I really want to keep my Tallulah but I know that is not possible Will be fun trying to catch him He is fast big and not as friendly as the girls Edited October 14, 2007 by Guest

bronze
Was it yesterday you did the swap? What did you get instead. More to the point how many? Only problem is if you go in saying only 2 you're bound to have come back with 3.
ali-s
I am planning on going tomorrow. Saturday mornings Natalie has football and OH had to go to work (again). It will take me about 2 and a half hours to get back to the breeder , so I will be starting out early. I still haven't decided on how many to bring back

ali-s
I'm back with 2 chickens Tallulah2 is a replacement for Tallulah. She is outstanding , typical Light sussex markings with little flecks of black feathers on her body. she reminds me of a dalmation. she is old enough to lay but is taking a winter holiday. Lulu was a gift she is a Gold Pencilled Hamburg, aged about 12 weeks. They are now checking out their new home under a seven watchful pairs of eyes. Ebony and Jeremy are patroling on top of the Eglu run and the others are standing guard around the perimeter I will get round to posting some pictures of them soon, but at the mo I am shattered after a 7 hour trip OH was when he stood at the run and counted how many chickens I have I am stopping at 9 Must go and update my signature
