Happy new Year

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to say that I wish you all a happy new year. I know for Mel and Paul it is a sad time and I think I speak for us all in sending our love and positive thoughts for their coming sad week, we will be thinking of you and please look for support from us Mel.

It's been good news for the mums to be, new life, clever girls you! and Some of us have new pups and other animals to share our happy homes!

Lesley and Carl have overcome some fears and 'grown' their own christmas dinner, earning my deepest respect.

All of you with children learning respect for animals and understanding more about food through the keeping of chickens also deserve a real pat on the back. They will grow up feeling very fortunate I'm sure.

I am happy that my poorly Otto and Katie have got peace this year and we are so lucky to have all our furry and feathery family, animals and my hens make life just the best.

Thanks to you all this year, only eight months but seems like i've had them and known you years. The girls changed our live and I look forward to a new feathery addition soon.

Health and happiness to you all and cheers to meeting in January. :D

Happy 2006 you every one :!::!::!::D

2005 was probably the worst year of my life. It ranged through my major surgery, my husband's cancer scare, my daughter-in-laws chemotherapy for lymphoma, my brothers attempted suicide, and me being made redundant after 17 years service. I'm sorry if I have made any of you feel gloomy :( .

I got my chickens in September and they have helped me to overcome many of the bad feelings I had. They are such friendly little folk, always pleased to see me, their anticks are so funny they make me laugh out loud every day. They have brought me such joy I know that 2006 is going to be GREAT :!:

The very very best to all of you for 2006 :P:P:P

Happy New Year to you all!

Lets look forward to a good year, plenty eggs, and lots of new members to the board!

I've got a bottle of fizz in the fridge if anyone fancies a glass.........

:D:D:D

(isn't it strange that I only ever have spare fizz when I can't drink it!)

Beaten you to it Gina - I'm later than you, so nahhh naahh

Have a great new year everyone.

LJ, I hope that the next year is a vast improvement on the last one - you've made the best start by getting chooks

Mel and Paul - our thoughts are with you, and we hope to see you soon.

grd, I hope that you sort the mice out!

I've been thoroughly spoiled today, and Phil has treated me like a princess all day - all just for being a year older - I like it! Here's hoping that it gets better. I read the folllowing once somewhere and it tickled me enough to remember it...

'We are all born into this world naked, wet and screaming - it can only get better'

Loads of love and hugs to you all

> Twas The Month After Christmas

>

> Twas the month after Christmas and all through the house -

> Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.

> The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste.

> All the holiday parties had gone to my waist.

> When I got on the scales there arose such a number!

> When I walked to the store (felt like I carried some lumber.)

> I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared;

> The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,

> The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese

> And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."

> As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt

> And prepared once again to do battle with dirt---

> I said to myself, as I only can

> "You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!"

> So--away with the last of the sour cream dip,

> Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip

> Every last bit of food that I like must be banished

> Till all the additional ounces have vanished.

> I won't have a cookie--not even a lick.

> I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.

> I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,

> I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.

> I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore---

> But isn't that what January is for?

> Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.

> Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!
