Egluntyne
I'm surprised no-one has mentioned last night's debacle. Should Steve whatshisface fall on his sword?
Jules.
Hubby was actually cheering for the opposition- he said England didn't deserve to get through, they are currently not god enough. I wasn't bothered....
Louise
My dad was chuffed with the result He is still annoyed with the dodgy linesman from the scotland game as he said that England didn't play well enough so didn't deserve to get through whereas scotland HAD played well and a bribed linesman made several bad calls to the ref and the rest is history
Lesley
Egluntine - do you have to use that word? Engerland drives me mad I didn't bother watching as England were clearly not good enough to go through. The chap on BBC Breakfast was saying that there aren't enough English players in the Premiership to provide a decent team these days. Couperman
I'm surprised no-one has mentioned last night's debacle. Should Steve whatshisface fall on his sword? There is no need for him to fall on his sword, a big axe just fell on him instead. The FA should do a bit of sword fally onning for hiring the muppet in the first place. The only people who were remotely pleased to see him get the job were Middlesbrough fans. I know boro aren't doing any better with Southgate but at least he doesn't pretend he is a tactical genius, and doesn't have a false smile. I knew putting Frank Carson in goal would backfire. On a brighter note, we won't see any of them stupid little flags stuck on every other car next summer. Kev.
Laura007
i have just seen the news and the manager steve mclaren has been sacked. what about the rest of the team, they were th ones on the pitch playing like muppets. you might have a useless manager, but that doesnt stop you playing well yourself. the whole team should be very embarrassed with their dire perfomance. chickencam
I noticed a few people had a go on the footie thread last night but I think most people were both too stunned and disgusted last night to talk about it. What a bunch of overpaid, clueless idiots I love football but I have to say that they just didn't deserve to go through, so maybe some lessons will be learnt. The Croatians had passion and drive so we need to find out what was motivating them because they had already qualified and had no need to even try. Rant over, except don't even start me on our local Cheltenham town team and this family's choice of premiership club Liverpool, what has happened to the beautiful game
Guest
I was going to add Violet Carson, but that would be really silly
Tina C
Only on here could a thread about football reduce me to tears (of the laughing kind)

Martin B
I think it is a disgrace that you are criticising Scott Carson. If it wasn't for him it would have been 5-1. Why is "Ooops, word censored!"ody blaming Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Jolean Lescott, Wayne Bridge, Sol Campbell? Doesn't make sense to me. England's number 1 for the long term. Why is "Ooops, word censored!"ody blaming Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Jolean Lescott, Wayne Bridge, Sol Campbell? Doesn't make sense to me. England's number 1 for the long term. They're all rubbish Martin! And thats cos none of them play for "Ooops, word censored!"nal... As i said on footy thread last night, not that i was supporting England (Croatia had more "Ooops, word censored!"nal players... ) but they were rubbish and didn't deserve to go through. McLaren is a pants manager but the players are the ones suposed to play the football on the pitch and they weren't good enough. Is not as if it was just this one game - it was a group competition... Guest
We were so used to blaming Jolean Lescott Martin that we gave up. He was rubbish for us and rubbish for England He was never the same after his 'so called knee operation' ,but that's a different story
elpolloloco!
its kind of a disgrace! supposedly one of the best teams in the world didnt qualify for a continental cup. oh dear!! i heard it was worth like 3/4 billio pounds in revenue. i wish i had that mcuh money!!!!!! oh, and crouches goal was very good/ come on liverpool!!!!!!! chelsea
I blame the FA and Mclaren. They picked mclaren for the manager and he's a muppet. No better a manager than Sven G E. He's never won anything as a manager so why pick him . I dont blame the players totally - they play well for their clubs - so why dont they play well for England - Because of the non motivational, uninspiring manager. It makes sense really. Hire a decent motivating manager with balls and you'll see results.
