Tina C
Layla keeps telling me what a great time she had at Jimmy's. This is how the day went. She is travel sick in the car because she and her friend (Sam) are playing Guess Who and then Top Trumps (Dr Who of course). Cries for most of the second half of the journey. (Me: 'Well, we are nearer to Jimmy's than home now....') Get to Jimmy's and mama sends her off with Clare T's Rosie, and Sam, to shake a collection box for the BHWT. In the rain. She is already cold and it doesn't help that I forgot to put the belt on her trousers so they keep falling down! Rosie buys her a chocloate owl (Angel Pie she will love you forever for that!). She gets REALLY cold but does not want to admit defeat and carries on shaking that tin. Suddenly realises that she is cold AND hungry - and we all retire, shivering, to the car to eat our 'picnic'. Mums take it in turn to go shopping while girls stay in the car playing I Spy. (Something beginning with D - DOLLY) Dolly comes over for chat and even says his trademark 'Oh, Man' a few times. He is walking really badly and tells me he is waiting for a hip operation. We go home. Actually it WAS fun. I got to meet Clare, Rosie, Phil and Mikey and Penguinmad, James and Janty (and her charming son) and say hi to Buffie and Emma again. Layla handed over the money she has raised for the BHWT from her egg sales and got a sticker and a key ring from Buffie AND I managed to buy a couple of Christmas presents. Not a great day weather wise but who cares. I took one photo one my phone of the three girls shaking their tins but I don't think I can put it on here (long story - I can send it to you Clare if you want me to). So, sorry I did not stop and chat to some of you but it just wasn't the best day for hanging around was it? Hope the peanuts are good for you Pengy, and I will let you know if my bantams like the new glug after I put it in there tomorrow. Will hopefully see you all again at a future get together, or at Jimmy's next time. Whoops got to go and record X Factor results for L now... Janty
Thanks for all the ex- batt advice today. It was really nice to put faces to names. Only wish the weather had been better and we could have hung around a bit longer to meet more people. Baden really enjoyed Tina C's description of him as 'charming'. His head is bigger than ever now. We went shopping in Ipswich after Jimmy's and Baden ended up with another two shirt and tie sets and another suit. My 11 year old has a strange obsession with suits, ties and cuff links. I suppose it could be worse.
Tina C
Tell Baden that all he needs to do now to perfect his charm appeal to KISS the hand (that might put him off a bit?) Sorry Cat, I did briefly say hi to you too, did not mean to miss you off my list. And I forgot to ask about your OH (I think I was worrying about cold children at the time)
Janty
Baden laughed about the hand kissing. Yesterday, he just walked up to Jimmy and said to him, 'How are you doing today Jimmy? We have just tasted some of your delicious cheeses'. He then put his hand out to shake Jimmy's hand. He has never met Jimmy before. I tell you, the boy just doesn't care. It is a bad thing really because he has no stranger fear. We have to watch him like a hawk.
Guest
My husband (ex) kissed me on the hand at the end of our first date. My mate asked how the date went and I said - I don't think he liked me, he kissed me on the hand!
ubereglu
Wish I could have been there, but I honestly couldn't as we had my sister Vikki and her fiance Dave down, and I haven't seen them lately. I had a good time at home though!!! Glad you all had fun!

How old is he? I love kids with confidence, he's got style
Janty
Baden is 11 and loves to look good. The only reason he wore wellies to Jimmy's farm was that he didn't want to ruin his brown suede shoes that he wore in the car travelling down there. The Dogmother
I didn't realise that Rosie had bought Layla a choccy owl - that is quite something for Rosie to let anyone else have chcocolate!!!! Janty, sorry, I managed to miss your son I was too busy trying to get Rosie to put her flaming coat on! Tina, I hope that the new glug works and that your nipples don't freeze Pengy - the only way we could get warm was to get into a steamy hot bath.. I swear that Rosie was so cold that she was cooling the water down.. should've come back for your hot tub! I was telling Phil about it - he said, 'oh, I'll have to bring my cozzy next time'... I said 'who mentioned cozzies?'. !!
