The Dogmother
We've had a couple of resident 'big cats' around the area for years now, but no recent sightings. Frontline news on the local rag today is that the cat is back! (typically, their webpage hasn't been updated yet, so no link) A farmer has found one of his pregnant ewes, killed and totally stripped of anything apart from her skeleton and fleece Experts say that this is typical of the way that the big cats kill. I have always been wary when out walking around here, but suspect that it would be more frightened of me than the other way round. I always used to walk the dog in an area that turned out to be one of it's haunts, so used to take old Jezebel (she would always protect her mum) and a pick axe handle! Unnerving to say the least.. watch out Lesley - we're not that far away! It always amazes me that we can send probes to Mars, but not manage to find any of the big cats on the loose! The Dogmother
Blimey...better supervise the free ranging then! I'd be surprised if it ventured this far into town, but it was last sighted in fields at the end of a garden on the edge of town. Broughton, where is was seen just lately, is only 3 miles away (I often cycle over to Broughton Castle which is really beautiful)
Ain't Nobody Here
At least they won't fit through the cat flaps . Meeting one of them face to face in your jimjams would be a bit of a worry .
Cinnamon
There have been big cat sightings in my village too - the last one was in the woods at the back of my house

I think that lots of areas have resident big cats; some are more widely known about than others. The one seen a while ago was black and one sighting was on an industrial park at the edge of town, when it was seen by a security guard. Martin B
We have one in Alcester. There is a photo somewhere, not sure if it is on the web somewhere. It was in the fields about 1/2 a mile from the back of my house, just past the allotments. Weirdly enough, the other day I saw a rather large animal come out of the bush and straight across the road when I was doing my paperound it was about the same size of a medium sized dog. Very scary. It looked at me, I looked at it and we both scampered. It was so dark I didn't get a very good look.
Cinnamon
Funnily enough Martin,it was in the early hours that our big black cat was spotted - & during a paper round too I would carry a big stick if I were you

UkButton
No not on a farm but near the castle... Got a big field out the back of the house so could be a possibility of sightings.
