Tessa the Duchess
I am frankly amazed at the number of bags some people own I have one bag, bought it a few years ago in Roots in Toronto. I carry loads of stuff, all essential around with me. The thought of having to transfer it all to a different bag for different occasions sort of defeats me Tessa
Guest
Gotta say I've just looked at both the Ollie and Nic and the Kipling and I'm not impressed. I do have a bit of a handbag obsession though. There seems to be a growing number of Radley's in my possession. Oh and I also have a special "handbag hanger" in one of my empty wardrobes
Guest
When we have chatted about these before did somebody mention that they had the monkey pinched from the bag and that it was a bit of an issue? It could have been Chookiehen or I could be making the whole thing up Yup, I once got mugged for my kipling monkey.... My Kipling rucksack is ancient now - my far trendier SIL bought me it for my Christmas, way back when I were young, and as far as I knew, it was just a bright red rucksack. Then I got mugged for the monkey. I love my kipling rucksack - it's been used as a changing bag for three children so far, and is gearing up for another couple of years in that capacity, it gets taken to the shops, on holiday and it washes up beautifully. Cinnamon
The thing that I love about Kipling Bags is the pockets. They are so well thought out & there really is a pocket for everything, plus pen holders, phone holders & so on. They wash like a dream, are light, but strong & not so unstructured that they are all floppy. There is so much space in the too.AND they come in really gorgeous funky colours. Believe me,I am a real Handbag freak & Kiplings are the business as far as I am concerned
Guest
Its the pockets that put me off! I like my bags to be decorative rather than "useful" Also I find using a really small bag is a much better option as it stops me carrying a load of useless tut around. I've had bags with lots of pockets before and then I hefted around loads and loads of stuff that was rarely used. Now I have a bag with my purse, comb, lippy, mirror, keys and phone in. Just don't ask how I do that and manage to take a 5 year old out with me, I've taught him not to need stuff!
Cinnamon
Goodness, I would hate to think what was in my bag - in fact hang on & I will have a look. OK, it is a small bag (11 x 8 inches),but the pockets mean I can keep everything in the place where I know it is. I have Purse & one of Snowys wonderful bags in the main body Medical bits in the inner zip pocket (Personals,Nurofen etc...3 females in this house!) Sunglasses (you never know!), pen,wet wipes in outer pocket Phone in very outer zipper 3 mini Clinique lipglosses, tissues & a sample size of the perfume I wear at the moment in another adjacent zipper Thats it - not much, but nicely organised! Blackrocksrock
Gosh wish I was so organised - normally I just clutch the purse when out shopping! - handbag if going further.
theherd123
It must be said im not really a 'shoes & handbags' kinda gal - much to the shock of the OH! My mum recently bought me a Radley handbag, the type that goes across the body and i love it, it does for all occasions - work, shopping, out in the evening etc. So i find i never need to change bags. An added bonus is that it isnt too big as the bigger the handbag the more useless junk i seem to carry!
bronze
I'm another who couldnt swap things over all the time. I use two bags. A baby change one that has been in constant use for the last 5 years and a brown leather handbag that I bought 2nd hand off ebay. I got it because it was about the right size and smart enough if needed but also casual if that makes sense. Only later I found out that it is Tula which is apparently a 'good' make. I couln't justify spending more on bags that just aren't needed however much I would like to think they are.

Guest
Tula are made by Radley - its their slightly cheaper label. I have a lovely Tula evening bag. I have 2 of those Radley messenger bags but I don't use them often - they are dead handy being across body but I prefer my dinky little hand held bags. Or a bigger shoulder bag if I have a lot to carry. When I'm in the mood (which I'm very not at the moment with work getting me down) I change my bag every day to go with outfits, shoes etc. Actually more in the summer when I have different colour shoes. I have a bit of a problem don't I?
Charlottechicken
I am using a multi pocket cream across the body bag from ETC at the moment, as it matches my cream hat, scarf and gloves (and I wear them with my purple coat!)! I am alternating between that and a black, soft, formal looking Whisper one I bought in TJ Hughes last year for around a fiver. I don't gravitate towards bags at all and don't buy many, but I seem to have a collection of around 8 at present
nuttynora
I'm not really a bag person, but I have to admit, i have bought myself a rather lovely Cherry Pink lunchbag from Kipling, and it is GEORGEOUS!!!!! I recently started a new job and have to take a packed lunch and was no way going to take one of the boy's spare Transformers or Dr Who ones from Woolies, so I googled "insulated lunch bag"......... I is so classy and posh - and the boys are desperate to pinch my Monkey keyrig off it!!! (even though its pink!!) .... then I found out theres a Kipling outlet at Gunwharf in Portsmouth......(and a Tula outlet....)........ bronze
Tula are made by Radley - its their slightly cheaper label. Are they? Shows how much I know. Are Radley the ones with the annoying scotty dog logo? Now if they had a great Dane or a GSD I may have a bit more respect for them

Cinnamon
Nope, none of mine have been. But do check out the sellers feedback profile to see of you an trust who you are dealing with.......... Another great thing about Kipling is they (like Eglus) hold their price really well,so if you get fed up of a colour (like I do with Eglus ) you can sell it on for a very good price. I have sold 3 or 4, & they have all gone to Japanese collectors, who are a real delight to deal with
Snowy
I used to love handbags - I had several Enny bags at one point, they were so gorgeous, and a couple of Enny purses. I'm afraid that since I ditched the nappy bag I either use one of my own bags for shopping (purse plus spare bags), a little fat face canvas bag from the sales last year, or none at all. I went out for a meal last night - phone in one jeans pocket, credit card and cash in the other. I like the minimalist look at the moment! craftyhunnypie
I am bag mad! I erm more or less buy a new bag every time I go on a serious shopping trip!!!
