Linda
I am hoping to come with Hubby and Emily not sure about sulky teenage son yet depends if there are any sulky teenage daughters going.... I have 3 daughters Nicola, all of whom are quite skilled at sulking! 17, 14 and 11, so plenty to choose from! They're great, aren't they!! Cate in NZ
On the sulky teenage son thread..... I've got one of those too I've also got a lovely unsulky daughter who will officially be a teenager by then (13 in June ). Maybe we should have a teenagers area, bit like an older version of a crehe, throw them all in together and let them sulk, flirt or chat amongst themselves Daughter's excited at the opportunity of coming, hubby's agreed to come, sulky teenage son doesn't like chickens and can't see why he should be expected to come too. So that'll be all 4 of us then
Linda
I think a lot of us can identify with that!!!!
buffie
Oh dear KateA, I could do the whole grabbing and kiss him thing that teenage boys love , that'll sort him out. BBx
Cate in NZ
He'd turn the colour of a beetroot, remain as rigid as an ironing board and then slink off into a corner unsure as to whether to laugh or cry. We'd then overhear him telling his mates on the phone about how he was grabbed by a glamorous, young blonde friend of his Mum's He's still very much at the awkward stage when it comes to mixing.... especially with strangers... and even more so with girls. Still bashfully observing this alien species from afar At the moment I think that on balance I prefer it that way, even if occasionally I find myself wishing he was a little less gauche, but I reckon that'll all change soon enough

Happymama
Without me having to trawl through all 13 pages of this thread, can someone tell me when and where? And if not decided yet, and not in North Yorks or Co Durham, can it be in the 2nd two weeks of August, in Cornwall?

chocchick
OK - fanfare!!! Just been talking to Jan. It IS going to go ahead but the date is still to be arranged so leave a gap in your diaries for mid-August. The venue is sorted. A barn at Broughton Castle (hope I've got that right!) so it's going to be a real barn dance with a band, hog roast, fun and games etc. As they are hiring a venue and all the extras to make it a really great day, we will need to buy tickets but I don't know how much these will be at the moment. Could you post here to let Jan have some idea of how many people are planning to come please? We're coming ! This is relevent bit

Broughton Castle is 3 miles from us, so anyone wanting a bed for the night will have to get in quick! I'll email jan for a date....

Sheilaz
Clare, I wish you were organising this! It's impossible not knowing a date, I'm already doublebooked on 19/8, so crossing my fingers. I'm sure most people are now busy arranging things for the summer, and could leave the date free if only they knew which one! We'll all be grateful if you can find out something definite.
