Cate in NZ
After reading everyone's ideas for a Saturday I think I like Trish's best, a new, gorgeous Cuckoo Star has to win hands down every time. But then again Annie mentioned alcohol under the stairs.... sounds good to me Annie.... any wine there? I've got a rather large, very empty glass just looking at me.... and alcohol sounds like a great way of filling an evening I've got cheese and biccies if anyone's interested, did a mad swoop on M&S earlier, ended up with a very nice and quite extravagant selection. Highly recommended
AnnieP
Well, My Saturday has just taken a turn for the better. OH has agreed that we can spend the night at our house: It will be camping out a bit, as there is no furniture here (other than the computer on a makeshift table ), but what fun! Shame the loo is still a bucket, placed very prettily in the centre of our new bathroom... Lots of wine though Nicola....

Cinnamon
ah the christmas hampers are better I make homemade jam, wine and damson gin.. then a huge batch of mince pies, christmas cakes and christmas puddings.. then make some homemade pot puree add a few christmas tree decorations made from gingerbread.. and voila! I can see I will be picking your brains nearer to Christmas, asking how to make pot pourri & so on! Your hampers sound wonderful,& so much nicer & more personal than a shop bought gift

chocchick
Lawn is a swamp / mud pit... I remember when all this was open fields... (maybe not open fields but certainly a lush lawn)! Perhaps if you put the chickens in the eglu and the cat on the lawn it will improve
Guest
Today I have had a trip to Huntingdon to collect a lovely green Eglu. Dom had cleaned it up so that even the roosting bars looked brand new! What a nice young man - he even gave me a pot of poultry spice and a blue little container of ............purple moment. Anyway, it was a nice surprise. I took him some slices of my cakes, whisky marmalade with pecan nuts, lemon and lime curd cake, and chocolate banana cake. Not that it made up for the extras above, bless him. It is all now assembled and up and running. I am getting so good at it I could get a job with Omlet delivering and installing them! Shame, I am old and retired and past it. I have been a skint student for the past 27 years! lol so the only way i can give people gifts is to make them myself! Just sat here for the past hour making the little easter decorations. If you have the money you can just buy the presents. better not mention that i am making my friends rugs this christmas!

chocchick
I'm cleaning out the eglu , now drying on grass. Chickens sunbathed (ahh) while I scrubbed away, and lept on stray grass from under eglu. Now gone Planning on digging in some log roll for our future bark chipped bit. We have a sloped lawn issue.

Mrs Frugal
Oh dear Annie. You have my sympathies . You don't fancy nipping over with your grout to cover up my newly coffee stained kitchen grouting, do you? I'd make you a nice cup of TEA !
