Christian
When my Geography teacher was pregnant, she would sit in class with a large bag of granulated sugar and eat it with a spoon
Tina C
I became partial to sugar lumps. I don't have a sweet tooth. I am surprised no-one has said coal or chalk yet.

Popcorn
Some very weird craving going on, I must say. Well, I am now 34 week pregnant with no.2, and my cravings have been fairly normal really. Milk is the main one. We now buy double, so I have a carton to myself. I did go through a tiptop craving in the early stages, and most bizarely, last week I had the BIGGEST urge to chew on some rubber (no puns please, I've heard them all off OH) The feeling was so intense, like nothing I've ever felt before. We were driving at the time, so I had to make do with Stefan's teether

Ziggy
I had forgotten one... with DD3 I had huge cravings for fish (which is unusual for a strict vegetarian)... one day, by mistake, the supermarket delivered a tin of sardines... I thought of throwing it away, then looked at it.... then literally tore the lid of, and leant over the sink and devoured three quarters of it in two mouthfuls, straight with my hands from the tin... Then I felt bad about it and threw it in the bin... Ten minutes later I came back to the bin, retrieved said tin and finished it Crazy... Mrs Webmuppet
I had a long list of stuff I went off when expecting Little Miss Webmuppet - tea, coffee, pasta, anything vaguely spicy...............I had 'morning sickness' for the whole time and anything with a smell made me hurl. I still struggle to eat pasta. As for cravings -malt loaf, just used to eat loads of it - one of the few things that would stay put!
SarahJo
TARMAC . Either freshly laid and steaming or spent hours hosing the driveway in hot weather for the same effect ( sorry - I know not very environmentally friendly). This was more with 2nd son - born in a hot summer . Must add - I did not EAT the tarmac, but craved the smell

Chuckov
When pregnant with Mini Chuckov, I do distinctly remember going mad for fish fingers - I had them for tea every day for about 6 weeks, and would have had them for lunch too if I could! I had plenty of anti-cravings if that counts - for months I couldn't bear to be anywhere near meat - I couldn't even walk down the meat aisle in the supermarket without gagging! ajm200
I wondered how long it would be before someone mentioned cravings for inedible stuff. Tarmac, dishwasher tablets and rubber are definately different
AmandaR
This thread has brought back memories With my first I craved soft boiled eggs and soldiers...only the 'soldiers' had to be orange segments Also, not good because of the raw egg but my midwife seemed to think the chances of anything bad happening were very slim so long as I ate them in moderation. With the second, it was thick slabs of butter. I would cut 1/2 inch slices and eat on its own. 'shudder'.
chickencam
AmandaR I think your cravings fall into the inedible category I had forgotten about my smell craving with DD2, my ED started school 6 weeks before her little sister was born and we had to walk down a footpath with a long wooden fence down one side to get there and the smell of the wood preservative on this fence especially if it had just rained and then the sun had come out was fantastic and I would find excuses to walk down there
