Egluntyne
Did anyone else find this disturbing? I did a "disgusted of Tunbridge Wells" and complained. So did hundreds of others apparently....and it has been pulled. Good. Even though I realised it was camera trickery, the image of the quivering dog was unpleasant and upsetting. BeckyBoo
But you do get dogs like that don't you, that stand and shake? My neighbours Jack Russell does that, stands on three legs shaking and there's nothing wrong with him. Mrs B
Egluntyne
True....but to suggest that a ride in a car would cure it was ridiculous.
chickenlass
I'm sure I read in the paper today that it was standing on a trembling pad. just ediited to add that I tend to find most car adverts a little disturbing and rarely see the connection with the ad and the Car. Tessa the Duchess
Sorry but I really love this ad, and I'm sad so many people got disturbed by it and now it's been pulled. Tessa
Paola
Its been on this weekend I find the tune catchy I have know dogs who shake also but nothing wrong with them.
xScrunchee
I'm pleased that I am not the only one who finds it disturbing OH thinks it's funny and no-one else I know hates it so I thought that it was just me being 'me' but now I find out I am not alone lol Pleased that it has been pulled too-not my cup of tea watching a dog trembling even if it is fine, just not entertaining
chelsea
I hated the advert and the music so im pleased its not on anymore.
rachel19
I love this advert - think it's really good.........it's pretty obvious they aren't going to force a scared dog to do an ad just for entertainment so I dont really see what the problem is. It's a shame people get so upset about things like this so easily......we were singing the song all of last week on our field-trip to Devon. Ain't Nobody Here
I quite liked the advert (although I hate car adverts ). We always called it the Riley advert, as that's just what our dog does if he has to go in the car . Tail between legs, total body quiver . layla
I actually think it's one of the best adverts I've seen in a long time .I'm with you on this one Rachel
Egluntyne
I realise that in this day and age it would not be acceptable to frighten a dog purely for filming purposes. I found it unacceptable to use the image of a scared and cowering dog.....this was more than just trembling....no matter how those images were created....computer jiggery pokery, vibrating table...whatever....to sell a car, or anything else for that matter. Reikiranf
I like the dog singing in the car and did find that funny However, the trembling dog did make me feel very sad and uncomfortable and I think perhaps more suited to an RSPCA campaign! Rhapsody
I am a dog lover, I have three rescue dogs of various shapes and sizes all living the high life chasing rabbits and running wild with a warm spot by the fire when they require it. I see nothing remotely abusive in this ad, it's computer jiggery pokery and the shaking looks like it has been created with a vibrating floor to me. I can make my dogs all hang their heads in shame with a look, doesnt mean I am hurting them! I am more concerned as to why that dog's tail is docked- now there's real abuse The vid is on youtube if you havent seen it.
Couperwife
I couldnt understand this advert. I liked the bit with the dog singing in the car, but I found the other bit with the dog in the queue (same dog???? - wasnt entirely sure) very unsettling I didnt like that part. I dont think that a lot of advert makers get a wide audience response when making things like that, and just go with what they think Now, the new mars advert, with the monks ringing the bells , now I like that one, it makes me laugh cathy x
Lesley
I think the advert would have been just as effective (or not) without the trembling dog.
Tessa the Duchess
I think the advert would have been just as effective (or not) without the trembling dog. Good point Lesley, I agree with you. Egluntyne
I think the advert would have been just as effective (or not) without the trembling dog. I agree. It would. The singing dog...though daft, was vaguely amusing.
Tina C
The singing dog is hilarious - but it was stupid ad, like most car ads. I think the trembling dog was a bit OTT and unnecessary
Geoid
The ad has not been pulled, as I have just seen it on TV
Guest
the walkers crisps cliff richard summer holiday skit advert is facing the chop too http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/display.var.2153455.0.0.php?act=complaint&cid=1341509
Lesley
hmmmm - that does make you think in a different way doesn't it The other Walkers ad. was stupid as well - advocating growing potatoes in a mud bath - excellent conditions for blight.... and there was plenty of that around last year - some farmers were not amused.... TrishY
I saw the walkers ad the other day but they had cut out the bit where the bus went under the bridge
Laura & CTB
Any adverts I have to sit through are watched with the sound turned off - so none of then make a lot of sense to me I just wish we didnt have to have them in the first place
